If you really should choose between iPhone and HTC desire, you should skip both and go for the black horse: Samsung Galaxy S. It easily surpasses both, HTC and ApplePhone, and doesn't even break a sweat.

See which one fits your needs. HTC bad screen is a thing of the past so I wouldn't hold that against it.

If you are into rooting and installing roms skip the galaxy s or wait longer as the user driven community just is not caught up with the rest of the android devices. But if rooting is not your needs any of the newer android 2.2 devices will suit your needs.

You Anime-Lovers and your sincerity. I already have a cellphone. I was just poking fun at those who follow Apple like blind lab mice.

And I'm not dissing apple. I'm dissing " ...those who follow Apple like blind lab mice. "
:D
But thank you all for your input. Just curious:
Did any of you watch the video?

Neither can I, so perhaps that's the reason why we aren't going to get iPhones.

I'm not an Evo fan personally, but I must admit that though it is a little exaggerated this video has a point. Tons of people think the iPhone is literally the only worthy phone on the market, even though plenty of other phones have the same features, or others which the iPhone lacks.

There's nothing better than the iPhone at the moment.
Case and point  :)

Don't get me wrong, it is a good product, but I really don't feel it is something that completely outshines the competition.

And why is that so?

The most apps available, the best screen, lots of storage, jailbreak works now as well for shitload of custom stuff like GBA emulator and PSX emulator.

Fast hardware.

it doesnt have the best screen, the # of apps available is frivolous since a majority of apps on both apple and android market are fluff apps or the exact apps redone.
The development for the android phones is much greater since there isnt the brick wall known as apple denying peoples applications. And applications dont have to be listed on the market to be downloaded.
Jailbreaking the iphone doesnt do a whole lot to increase its functionality.
It still lacks a replaceable battery, and things like emulators have been available for quite some time.

Additionally the hardware in the iphone is lacking when compared to other highend phones in the market.

I haven't heard of any other phone that comes close to the "Retina"-display yet. Also, I don't see why you would like to replace your battery? If Android phones come with (crappy) batteries that needs to be replaced after some time, I understand why you would want it, but iPhone batteries seems to last the whole lifetime of a phone. My 3G (which I got when it was it was a completely new model) is still going very strong, battery-wise. Other than that, I must admit that it's less fun having an iPhone now that it feels like half of the people you see is using one. I might get a phone with Android (or MeeGo, perhaps?) next time, since they, as you say, do have some advantages. Anyone making the claim that an iPhone would be a bad phone, though, wouldn't know what they're talking about.

1. The iPhone is a good phone. I agree anybody who says it sucks is just exaggerating. That said, I don't feel it is massively superior.
2. Replacing the battery is more just a preferential thing. Whether you are dealing with the iPhone battery or anything else, depending on its use the life does decrease, though minimally if you are a responsible user. In addition, with Android phones, batteries are upgradeable for popular models in which if you feel that your battery just isn't holding enough charge, you can get one that is higher capacity. Other than that though the battery thing is negligible.
3. The Retina screen wins hands down if you are just talking about resolution, but if you are talking about energy efficiency or colors, I'd argue the AMOLED and Super AMOLED win.

I do like the iPhone, but I have a few complaints:
1. Only on AT&T for now, though I do know that it is in the works for other carriers.
2. No physical keyboard. It can't be the only good phone, if there is no variant of it with the keyboard.
3. Mobile Hotspot technology is only available if you jailbreak.
4. Antenna Issues - we've all heard about this one though, and yes the free covers do help solve the problem.
5. Camera isn't quite as good as it could easily have been, and several android handsets outshine it in this category.
6. Multitasking still isn't good enough.
7. Ambient noise cancellation isn't as good as the competing Android Phones. Especially falls flat compared to Droid X

And the #1 thing I hate about the iPhone which isn't Apple's fault. Too many people act like it is ridiculously better than everything else. Enough of the elitism. Does that logic mean that anyone else who buys a different phone for a similar price is just stupid? The phone has its pros, and it certainly has its cons.
