It works fine for me. You do have to keep in mind that it is still a beta.

I concur. I never said I'm scrapping it all together, I'm just surprised something like that happened 45 seconds off the bat. (I dealt with some fun issues in Chrome alpha/beta as well, but nothing this fast and odd on the home page.

I don't remember the last time I used ie. I do know the next time I will be using it though; And that will be when I get a new computer I will use it for 30 seconds or so to download a better browser.

When life gives you lemons, you clone those lemons and make super lemons.

Opera is my main browser. I use it 99.9% of the time, but there are still some random website that either render incorrectly in Opera, and there are lots of random videos that won't play in Opera because I've blacklisted a bunch of advertisers' domains.

Having said that, IE9 is actually a decent browser. It just isn't the pile of crap anymore that IE6 used to be. It's too basic for me, but I can see why non-techies are fine with it.

IE9 is still a beta, and it's a pretty damned good browser. I use it along with firefox on my main PC and along with opera on my netbook. At least it doesn't have the weird bugs firefox 4 beta has, like when middle-clicking (fail rendering under the cursor)... and ie9 is pretty fast. They should put a spell-checker in it too, though.

I do like the Opera love here. Used 6.0 (?) for years until I switched to chrome. I seem to have skipped the firefox love entirely. Opera doesn't have all the addons and has less functionality, but it was quicker, which for the old browser based game I used to play was everything. The difference between a .5 and a .7 second refresh was the difference between a weeks worth of gaming going down the toilet and making someone else swear at you profusely and blame lag.
