Looking for Japanese game (english patch)
« on: November 09, 2010, 06:18:26 AM »
Something like Recettear, with english patch of course.  Not VN's, I got plenty of those.  Genre does not matter, as long as it's fun.  I'd prefer an RPG, though.

Tears to Tiara is an alright game it has fun-ish RPG-ish type battles interspaced with eroge VN-ish scenes and Dakkodango has released an English patch for it.  I would recomend giving it a go.

There's plenty of JRPG which goes west-side, Final Fantasy Series, ATLUS (Persona Series), The Last Remnant, Front Mission Series etc etc, unless you're looking for Indie/doujin games, bishoujo/hentai games i dont see why they would be in japanese and would require an english patch.

Regardless, if its a JRPG and you havent tried Persona, start with the PS2 or PSP version of Persona 3 and work your way up, the previous installments have no connections to the later ones, are pretty dated and would probably not be to your liking.

I've played every console JRPG available to me.  FFXIII sucked, the best was Tales of Vesperia and the more indie Tales of Agarest War,

I'm not sure if Tomoya-Kun is looking for a game that he can pick up in NA, but there are a lot of really good games that never make over here for various reasons. I for one can't name any since i stick to NA releases, but I have a friend who loves Naruto and claims that the Japanese releases are much better then anything we get here.

That's exactly what I meant.  Recettear is something I never would have played otherwise.
