damn, i checked the first 3 pages and didn't see a thread on this. im shocked. :'(

ANYWAYS.....
 so far the game is great, but somethings missing... it doesn't have the same feel as previous installments.
as well as the story (i haven't beaten the game yet) goes theres things missing?? its almost like a prequel.

no one on any planet (if your playing with Ventus anyway) is happy to see you at first. every one's like "who are you?!" and "what are you doing here" "he came to steal from us" "go home!" its rather ridiculous.

but none the less its still a great game +it has online play. i haven't been able to try it yet, but it seems like it will be damn good.

It IS a prequel. To be precise, the events of BbS take place ten years before KH I. And it does not make a lot of sense unless you play the KH Final Mixes, Re:Chain of Memories and 358/2 Days.

i never got any of the final mixes or 358/2

but i did beat chain of memories.

i might go back and get the final mixes.

i knew something was strange when the name of the bald guy was "Xehanort" i was like wtf? why does that name sound so familiar. you see so many characters before they had "nobodies" and when i first saw Ven i thought it was Roxas (soraX)

Stop the game and go through KH II Final Mix first and then 358/2 Days. You actually don't need to play KH I Final Mix b/c most story details enclosed in BbS focus only on (Re:)CoM, KHIIFM and 358/2 Days. And furthermore: You will understand more of the story in due time as you finish the game with all three characters.

well i just looked for final mix. and i hadn't realized it, but it isn't availible in english. even if i buy the game imported and mod/buy a modded ps2 im still not going to be able to understand. i also don't have a working ds. (but i plan to use an emulator for that anyways)

i just got to the final battle with roxas er ventus. is the guy who is his dark half supposed to be some one from some where? like how they slipped in

Watch and be astonished. Then you should best finish Terra and then play with Aqua (b/c she gets to kick ass in the epilogue). And yeah, there is an explanation about where Vanitas came from:

Vanitas was born of the darkness in Ventus' heart when Xehanort took this part as Ventus was on the virge of death. The other half of Ventus' heart was then filled up by Sora. In the end, Vens heart returns to Sora and this is also why Ven looks like Roxas.
