May 2011, so it's already passed (not sure what day - possibly the 11th, judging by the picture, but I'm not good with reading Japanese numbers larger than 9, so I could be wrong). That's presumably just the cinematic release date though, it'll probably be a while till it's released on bluray.

Updated first post so check it out.

The movie will come in Blu-ray on a Regular Edition and a Limited Edition. The Limited Edition will feature an extra disc that will feature a Music Video inside of it. Also, both editions will have English subtitles. Waiting patiently for this to come out on BD ...

Want I should upload the BBS sub?

The movie is a work of art, as expected.
Whoever told you I was nice?

Just finished watching this (the THORA release), and honestly I was slightly disappointed. It's a really great film, but I don't think it quite manages to match the quality of Makoto Shinkai's previous works. The ending felt a bit disappointing imo; it just left me with far to many questions.

As for the art... despite the far more fantastical and imaginitive setting, it all just felt a bit plain compared to the exquisite detail of his other films. It was much closer in style to a Ghibli film than a Shinkai film (which imo is a step backwards; others might not agree).

The soundtrack was superb, though. Lovely music, and the effects and voice acting were spot on too.

All that said, it is still a masterpiece. While it might not be as amazing as 5cm per Second and The Place Promised In Our Early Days (and that's not really much of a criticism), it is still far better than most other anime films I've seen. Definitely a must watch; especially if you're a Ghibli fan, since their films were clearly a big influence.

I'd assume

I will agree that overall, the movie wasn't what i was expecting, but it's still one of the best I've seen.

Glad to see THORA releasing this, and in 10-bit! I'll be watching theirs first.

It's a good movie, but certainly a disappointment. It's definitely closer to Ghibli, which I'd normally consider a good thing, but it lacked the most important feature that a Ghibli movie has - its simple charm. The plot was also a mess. The concept was easy enough, but they focused so much on it (almost plot-driven, rather than character-driven) that you'd expect some answers. Not to mention the message was very orthodox, and in no way revelating or rewarding compared to any other anime (the way it is presented I mean).

This man is a genius. I want this anime. If there a DDL or XDCC to THOR's 10b release? I can't find one on the site.

Good story. Good ending towards the end. Not the best epilogue. Amazing graphics. Excellent music.

This should have been like a 12 or 13 episode TV series ... there was more things to cover, in my opinion. Shinkai's best work is still 5 Centimeters per Second.
