I think it's too know whether or not you are compatible with them or something... I saw in some anime that in Japan the blood type can be used to determine your ideal partner or something, sort of like the zodiac/horoscope/whatever.

my think that my version is much more funnier, but I guess you are right
it would be quite beneficial to make fans think that they are compatible with the thing they see so they would get more obsessed and buy more of merchandise...
