The reason why "Merry Christmas" isn't allowed is because our community doesn't only contain Christians and thus they opted for something more general.

did i read that correctly? Now i don't want any flamewar but i feel this must be corrected.

that aside. I think the reason is because christmas is only one day(dec 25 0:00 -23:59) so "merry christmas" would then become out of place starting dec 26- jan 30. however, december - january AFAIK is considered the "holiday season" internationally so... yeah.

Hmm... seems I learned something new today. Well me being an atheist and never having any interest of where holidays come from I was completely oblivious to this fact. But seriously that is the worst article you could ever point someone to. Where is my tl;dr? lol.

Not exactly, when you say Merry Christmas you are technically wishing someone to spend that day merrily, however Happy New Year goes on for whole year, no?

Dunno it just seems weird to me. Because technically you're wishing somebody a happy new year so 2011 would be the "new" year and that works in the final days of December 2010 but when used in January 2011 it just seems off. But w/e I can see your point but it will stay weird for me xD

No one said it's not strange, New Year stops being new as soon as it starts, that does not however prevent us from wishing it to people who we see/hear later that year (for the first time however).

On the original crop (as it's pretty much the same crop as mine ^_^) there's a little sliver between her knee and hair at the very bottom, always bugged me!

Yes, that should be correct.

Also, try not to reuse the same style as last year over and over, depending on a number of banners we decide to take I may or may not include previous year banners into rotation. I did offer it as resource material, but if they're all too much alike we'll take less into consideration.
So godofcheese you'll have to try a bit more than that, since that one already exists

Duki's right. and on atheist. that makes two of us. though in my case i am forced to hide in the shadows and pretend to be a catholic so i have to read the bible and research a lot. Blowing my cover means alienation, in fact, i've already lost a couple of "friends" IRL for coming out.

Same here hon. My family and 'friends' are Jehova Witnesses. I even had to do a secondary FB to separate my real friends with those. To avoid bullshit on how 'free speaking' I am in FB and how it 'bothers' them. -_-

Oh and yea.. I ran out of spunk to do anymore banners.. maybe I do some more later. But considering I am not too good at it. Not likely. Just depends how bored I am.. -___-
