No, it's not that one. It looks like the G3 but older.

I didn't realize that you were trying to do saves. I only use the HDD. I was talking about music and stuff.

Ok here is the official Sandisk USB drive for xbox 360. 8gb
http://www.sandisk.com/products/gaming-cards/sandisk-xbox-360-usb-flash-drive

A bit pricey. at 34$ comes with one month of xbox live.

Ive tried this flashdrive on my xbox to save games and it worked.

It also will continue to work after being, frozen, boiled, and run over an SUV. All though i recommend you don't do that lol

I know theres an official drive magicman, im not shelling out 40 bucks for an overpiced stick

@ that corsair you linked. Did it format without any warning message at all? Corsairs a brand i never looked into i didn't even know they made USB drives. Im actually surprsied that fits in teh 360, it looks really chunky

I'm not exaggerating when I say this, but that Corsair is actually faster than an Xbox HDD, it passed with no warning. Flawless

Don't believe me look here

ya but the one you linked in the test is their GTR line, when the one you linked initially was their regular voyager line.. which one is it that you have? I just want to verify that it actually fits in the slot, because some reviews i saw had people say it didn't fit

Where did you state that? I don't really see it in the initial post.

Also, since when were you able to save files from a PS3? I thought that stuff was locked down (hence the countless threads of people upset about issues with the inability to back up saves and migrate to a new HDD etc.)

No kidding. Besides possibly the need to have speed faster than an HDD, there seems to be no point. If you have dled too many games or trailers or demos or whatever, delete that shit. If you seriously have no HDD, there's a lot of cheap ones on the market from so many RRODs and people upgrading left right and centre.

blea. I've tried 2 different USB sticks with the stupid 360. A centon datastick pro 16gb, and a Kingston 8gb data traveler (g3 series, model DTIG3/8gbz) The centon gave me an error saying it didn't meet requirements but i tried using it anyway. It wound up losing some data on it, and lost my friends profile when he was transfering it once. I then got the kingston and got the same damn error message. This was after seeing people mentino the data traveler worked on other forums.

I'm getting tired of this. I dont get why MS has to make crap so friggin difficult and idiotic. The PS3 just uses any friggin flash drive with no problems whatsoever. The 360 requires you to friggin format the dumb thing, which makes it useless for anything else, and on top of that it seems almost nothing works for it. Such an absurd pain in the ass. Well, the bottom line is i need a stick to use and im tired of wasting money on stuff that doesn't work

Have any of you gotten a particular stick to work with the Xbox? im looking for an 8gb size probably, but i guess i could get a 16 if i have to. I need SPECIFIC model numbers. I.e. Kingston data travelers have tons of different lines and models. I hear some PNY drives work great, and others dont, but have not seen specifics. This little video here shows a pny 16gig working great.. but of course they dont mention the type or model number

so yeah...you never actually said that you're trying to save game data onto a usb...if you don't mind me asking, why do you feel the need to do so?

Hu i guess i never specifically mentioned that. Frankly i dont see a point in using any other type of data for the 360. I certainly don use it as a media hub or antyhing. The PS3 is much better for that

I need it because i have 2 360's i need to transfer games and data from, and i need to be able to back up games and move player profiles when i game at friends houses/ect. I have no problems moving data on the ps3, ps2, ect, 360 is a friggin retarded ass pain. This isn't a matter of me running out of space. I need to freely move data and profiles as required. Not to mention its a good idea to back up saves from time to time since these systems are piles of garbage.

Im not sure what you mean about the ps3 not letting you back up files. There are a couple games that dont let you, because the devs lock it out, but the vast majority of games let you move and copy them. And you dont need a special USB stick, nor do you need to format one to do it. Just plug and play. It sounds like the Corsair may be the best bet, i'll try emailing the company to check their speeds or if they know if they're compatible with the 360. PNY seems like its a maybe
