Well, just come up with this within my head.

Here is a guy, who went to sleep when he was tierd. His room mate is a woman who has a habit of sleepwalking. The girl went to sleep into her own room and then sleepwalked into the guys bed. The guy sleeps naked and the girl is only wears only a T-shirt while sleeping. The guy starts to dream of sex/rape while being sound asleep.Then while dreaming about sex/rape the guy has sex with the girl, the guy is still asleep. Also the girl is dreaming about that she is having sex/being raped. Then the guy wakes up when he comes and then notices the situation and gets into panic. His D*ck is in the p*ssy of the girl during he is in panic, the girl wakes up to this, notices the situation and punches the guy to the face while screaming ''pervert!''. After leaving the room, the girl notices that it wasn't her room.

That is all what I've created... dunno how it ends xD but kind of funny... So now vote!

Pretty strong words from someone in the 51st state of Canada. You'll laugh your way to your own grave and depression as Canada is attached at the hip to America economically. Who do you think benefits the most from NAFTA - the largest trading bloc in the world? It's not Mexico and we import more than we export here in the US. I agree, Canada as a nation is economically dependent on the United States.    Canada exports the majority of it's good towards the United States, and the collapse of the United States would probably destroy Canada as well.

Worry not, however, because I have Hong Kong/Chinese citizenship as well.  Canada allows dual citizenship, which is great.  By the time the U.S completely collapses, I'll be far away from the chaos.

However, I'm sure your opinion will change when you get a bit older and get through more schooling at university. It's evident that you are educated and intelligent, you just haven't got the whole picture as you're comparing apples to oranges. Don't take that as an insult, it's not, I just clearly remember having a similar outlook as you when I was your age just a few years ago. Today's market is international like it's never been before. It started back in the 70s - which helped lead to the destruction of the USSR - and has only become more and more active. So long as we produce things people in other nations want they'll buy it. More importantly, so long as we purchase things from other nations that they wish to sell - they'll keep us alive.

Perhaps I my opinion will change.  Perhaps it will not.  Only time will tell.  I don't think that the international market killed the USSR, as in the late 70's and 80's the leadership was unstable and incompetent at managing the complexities of a nations such as the USSR. 

If you're running a command economy, you have to really be on top of managing your economy otherwise it'll collapse in no time.

The British and Ottoman empires were destroyed by war and were active in a time where international trade didn't really exist and were constantly pressured financially and militarily by their rivals. The USSR's downfall came at the hands of their internalizing as much as it did their failed political and economical ideology. None of these examples are very comparable to the current US economic skid - I would hardly call it a depression.

The British Empire did not fall to war, as the Second, and to a smaller extent the first world only sped up it's inevitable demise.  All empires are doomed to fall, at some point or another.  What an empire is really doing is uniting people of different culture and race under a common leadership.  The indigenous people of a colony are also often oppressed.  This is doomed to fail, as the cultures of different parts of the empire can be very different, meaning that the same governmental system may not work for all colonies.  Eventually, the colonies will either rebel or lobby for independence, thus ending your empire.


It's interesting that the British Empire lasted as long as it did.  This is partially due to the nature of the British themselves.  They were the "polite oppressors" of their colonies, and attempted to establish law and order rather than siphon as many resources as they can from the colonies. Many of the colonies preferred British rule over another's, the most notable example being Hong Kong.  Everybody I know from Hong Kong thinks highly of the British and their methods of ruling Hong Kong.

The British approach to decolonization is the best one they could have taken.  After learning their lesson with the United States, they allowed all of their colonies to declare independence without resistance from the British Government.  Most of the colonies retain excellent relationships with Great Britain, such as my own nation of Canada


You also state you expect it around the 30th anniversary of the Soviet collapse which is only a few short years away. That is not nearly enough time for the United States to crumble in the market today. The US is far too valuable to China and the EU at this point for them to let it happen and there are far too many Americans too proud of their nation to fall that far that fast. A perfect example is in this recession, Ford, DC, and GM stepped up their games and the people responded - buying the shit out of their cars, relatively speaking, producing something they hadn't seen in years - profit.

The 30th anniversary of the collapse of the USSR would be December of 2021.  That's 11 years.  It may or may not be enough time for the US to collapse, but I believe it'll happen before 2050.  The US will never be able to pay off it's trillions of dollars of debt it has obtained.

We Americans tend to be reactive in nature. We don't really take initiative but God help you if you piss us off or back us in a corner. The US will eventually fall but I highly doubt it'll be in our lifetimes, at least not in its entirety. China is not prepared to be the center of attention and it doesn't seem the EU really wants to be.

The EU is useless and I don't expect anything out of them at all.  The U.S is being smart in that they're not cut their military expenditures, and they retain the position of "Global Mediator".
