PSP?
« on: December 02, 2010, 08:15:33 PM »
Well im thinking of buying a PSP3000 white/black/blue this Xmas. I only have a Nintendo DS atm and I do want another (better) Portable Console, just feel like it xD Also many anime/cool/better graphics then DS games are for the PSP.
But the problem is im not very familiar with Playstation and stuff so I'm asking:
Is it now too 'late' or outdaded to buy a PSP(3000) now?

Note: I hate the PSPGo so don't say me to buy a PSPGo.

As long as you can buy games you like on it there is never too late to but a console. Simple as that. Ask yourself if you will not regret not playing games that are already out and ones that will come out before PSP2 and just either wait for PSP2 or buy this one. What makes a gaming system are games.

I'd get the 2000 because some games have image issues (I think it has something to do with interlacing). Also, 2000 can use the pandora easier I believe(don't know if I can mention it here; just google psp pandora). As for your actual question, there's a psp 4000(not go) or psp2 coming out in 2011 I believe. You may want to wait for it.

I personally own a psp, i got it when it first came out a couple years ago, sadly thought i only use it now for limited internet as the memory card i own is small in size, i belive 356 mb, so when you buy one, but a bigger memory card as soon as possible ^.^  8)

there are no 'real' links to the psp2. Just rumors and theories.  The latest suposed leak is this one:

http://www.joystiq.com/2010/11/17/rumor-psp2-prototype-images-leaked/

who knows if its real

The thread linked was one i started and i'll just say that i wound up getting the god of war pack. Mostly because it looks cool =) I love the black and red color scheme. Though i wish teh back had a kratos logo on it like the older one. I dont get why they took that off. The color scheme is better than the last GOW pack, but they lost the logo.  I havent opened it yet because i got some super glue on my thumb a couple days ago and dont want to use the new system until its off, lol. I wound up getting Valkyria cronicles II, Dissidia final fantsy, Jean D'arc, Tales of the world, Kinghts in the nightmare (with yggrsa unidon dlc), Y's oath in filgaia premium edition, Y's 7 premium ediion, Loco roco2, Lumies II, and Lunar premium edition. Plus im gonna d.load Suikoden to it.  Thers a bunch of other games i need to pick up too but that and the god of war games that came with the system should be plenty for right now.

I say go ahead and get one at the price you listed, thats a pretty good deal. Out of curiosity is that some European package deal or something? Ive never heard of that bundle. I know there was a white one with assasin creed last year.  This is the one i got:
http://www.joystiq.com/2010/08/30/god-of-war-ghost-of-sparta-special-edition-psp-revealed/

the visual interlacing issue is still a concern I guess. I'll see how bad it is when i open it up in a few days after this stupid glue is off my thumb >_<  But ya theres pics of the interlacing issue the 3k has in there. I hear its not as bad as people claim, and i hope not because some of the picture examples were really bad. The wide color space is super nice for 2d RPGs though if the interlacing isnt an issue

^_^x KD

I agree with him on the Dissidia part
that game is just awesome !
and hopefully, there will be a sequal to it in 2011

As for Assassin Creed (for me) it wasn't that good
but it was still playable !

+1 to this
try to get a big memory and trust me you'll need it !

2000 supposedly has ghosting though.

or you can mount it in your car and use it as a music/movie player/gps*

think of it as value added

There's no point to wait if you realy like the psp games.

People will allways say:
- wait till next generation
- wait till they make emulator
- wait till psp phone (Sony Ericsson Z1 aka Zeus) will be avaible 500$
- wait till ....

If you enjoy the games, and want fun console, go for it!
You can allways wait, but whats the fun waiting year or two ?

I got my PSP Fat, and I realy enjoy it, I could wait for Slime, then could wait for Slim v2 (3000), but why ? In that time others wait i played alot of great games, and I used psp alot of time ! :)

Imo, if you want it and you know what you wana play on it buy it.
If you want homebrew on it, aka old Console emulation and playing backups try to find the Slim version 2000, but if you dont care about backups then 3000 is the way you go.

I could wait for slim, slim load games faster, but whats the point when I would wait, insted of having great time :)

Hope you made up your decision :)
