Would you prefer to see boys losing their clothing instead ;)?

NO!
I'm not into guys, I mean to quote just about every 'valley girl' out there, "EEEEEW!"

"The World God Only Knows"
So, what did I think of this anime?
It is quite good.
The OP theme music is one of those rare pieces that I was actually willing to listen to almost every episode, where I know that most people will skip past the OP.
It's a pretty good piece of music. Actually, most of the music in this anime is good.
The whole premise behind this anime is odd, but that can be said for a lot of the anime out there.
The first episode opens on what is very obviously a game of some sort. Obvious to people who have played a few 'dating sims' that is.
This is where we first meet Keima, who we rapidly find out is the class 'dweeb', as he constantly has his head in a game, much to the annoyance of his teachers, who hate the fact that he is able to answer any and all questions thrown at him....when they can get his attention that is.
As the episode continues, we discover that Keima's 'PFP' is capable of receiving messages and that he runs a 'dating sim website' called "God Of Conquest*" where he gives advice on how to beat the games.
Keima receives a message offering a contract to capture girls, which he accepts thinking it to be a challenge, not knowing that in reality he has 'signed' a contract that requires him to do just that, but in the 'real world'.
This where a demon, "Elsie" makes her entrance, informing Keima that if he doesn't obey the contract, or if he fails, both he and Elsie will lose their heads.
It is at this point that Keima realizes he has acquired a 'collar'.
From that point on, Elsie and Keima, through some sort of 'magic', become brother and sister, with Elsie locating the 'loose souls' and Keima forcing them out of the girls hearts by making them fall in love with him... using techniques learned from 'dating sims'.
A special mention for episode 8, which aside from having the ONLY even slightly ecchi scene, will cause people who have seen "The Melancholy of Suzumiya Haruhi" to have a flash back to the 'endless eight' series of episodes.
However, DO NOT skip this episode, it is quite entertaining.
The last episode is devoted to Keima and shows just how much of a gaming 'God' he is. To say he has 'mad skillz' is an understatment.
The other thing that the last episode states in no uncertain terms, is that there WILL be a second season and AniDb confirms that.
I can't really say much more about this anime without ruining it for everyone.
It's a light hearted, fun show to watch and if you keep your eyes open you will pick up a few references to other anime in it.
No idea what I'm going to watch next, when I know, you'll know, keep an eye on my signature. ;)
Another bit of news, I finally dug my external HD out of where I had put it when I went to Singapore and I've 'synchronized' it with my internal 'storage' HD, so now I have all of my anime on the external drive.
This has allowed me to delete around 400gb from my storage drive, so it is *much* happier now. This also means I can start thinking about what to get next.
*This may not be the correct name for his website, I'm going from memory, but I reckon it's close.
