Going to watch "Kashimashi" next, from the little bit I've seen it looks like it could be quite funny in places.
Yeah, it is.

Well, I'm four episodes into "Kashimashi".

On the third episode, I thought about dropping it, but I've decided to watch the rest of it after seeing the fourth episode.

So far it's a little slow and there hasn't been much in the way of funny stuff happening, in fact, if it wasn't for the perverted father, who is excited in all the wrong ways about having a daughter, the mother's way of protecting the 'new' daughter from said father and the 35 year old teacher that hasn't had a boyfriend, there wouldn't be a lot of funny at all.

Having said that, it's more like a 'school life/drama' than anything else at the moment.

Even if it continues to plod along like it is right now, it is still watchable.

On another note, some of the female characters seem to be designed along the same lines as 'Nuu' from "Elfen Lied".
Maybe I'm just imagining things.

You are right, it has more drama than comedy.

Woo.

I had some time on my hands and decided to watch some more of "Kashimashi".

Before I knew it, I had watched the whole series.

That's basically all THIRTEEN episodes in one day folks. Note that the version on BakaBT seems to be the only one out there with the 13th episode.....

First things first though.
The subs seemed to be just a tiny bit out, timing wise that is. Not so far out that they messed things up, but just enough to be annoying at times.
Other than that, everything else was all good.

Kashimashi is a slice of life/drama/romance, with a very small bit of comedy thrown in.

The whole anime is focused on a boy named Hazumu.

Hazumu confesses to Yasuna one day, but is turned down by her. To take his mind off of his heartache, he takes a walk in the nearby mountains, where he is killed.....
by a crashing space ship.

The aliens manage to bring him back to life, but they make a mistake..... Hazumu comes back as a girl and a cute one at that.

So, now we have Hazumu as a girl and this where the drama starts.
Hazumu's friends, Tomari, Asuta and Yasuna, the girl who turned him down, all have certain...shall we say 'problems' because of the change of gender.

We discover that Yasuna has a certain problem, which is why she turned down Hazumu, but now that Hazumu is female, that problem is gone.
Tomari is annoyed that Hazumu is now a girl....and has no idea how to act like one. Tomari wears her hair in 'twin tails' and is very athletic. When she gets angry, those tails stick straight out.
Asuta is Hazumu's best friend.....but his best friend is now a girl and his hormones keep getting in the way. Hazumu IS a CUTE girl after all.

The only person who seems to have her screwed on the right way around is Ayuki, a girl who wears glasses, but she has some problems of her own.

On the comedy team is;

Namiko Sensei, she is as she says '35 and never had a boyfriend' as she puts too much effort into looking after her beloved students. Namiko always seems to be falling down holes or out of windows for different reasons.
Pretty nice looking for a 35 year old teacher, but then I'm biased.  :D

Hazumu's Father, he is very excited to have a daughter, especially one as cute as Hazumu, for all of the wrong reasons.
Hazumu's Mother, is there to stop him from getting out of control most of the time.

Soro, the head alien from the ship. He is there for research purposes. The ship, which seems to be sentient really wanted to go with him when he went down to to earth, so Soro made a body for the ship based on Hazumu's 'specifications'.
Jan Puu, the ship. Looks like Hazumu's sister, but with long pink hair and a tendency to float.

As the anime moves along, we get to see Hazumu learning to deal with being a girl and all of the little things that go along with it.
There are some funny moments as Hazumu learns what to do and more importantly, what NOT to do.

While all of this is happening, we start to notice that Yasuna and Hazumu are becoming closer and we discover Yasuna's secret.
Eventually, Hazumu and Yasuna become a couple.....sort of.

This leads to other problems and we end up with a 'love triangle', but I'm not telling who the participants are.

The anime has all of the normal things an anime normally has.
There is the overnight stay at a hotel, a trip to the beach, that has some pretty nice 'eyecandy' for the guys, the dreaded 'test of courage' and of course, a trip to a festival, but with the added twist that this anime brings to everything.

This anime starts off a little slow, but hang in there it does get better.

While it's not something everyone will enjoy, it's a pretty well made anime.
There is a lot more drama than anything else in this anime, but they don't go 'too far' with it.

The main characters, Hazumu, Tomari and Yasuna, are all easy to like, even if they are sometimes mean.

If you are looking for a good romance/drama, you will probably like this.

No idea what I'm watching next.....well, not yet any way.

Edit: for the record, I watched the [Blitz] version.

So, I'm 4 episodes into the anime "Ladies vs Butlers".

Talk about laugh! Every episode seems to be full of off the wall shenanigans, usually centered around our 'Hero', if that is what you want to call him.

Not to mentions ecchi of all kinds. I love the maid student who seems to be terminal klutz, the way she does what she does is amazing.

However, there is also more serious stuff happening in each episode.

I've enjoyed what I've seen so far and I just know the action and situations are going to get more absurd as this anime continues.

The way she does what she does is an art, and should be thought in Universities of Klutz :)

She is my personal favorite in "This girl will doom mankind" role :D (and the only one thus far)
I enjoyed that show a lot, so I am wondering what you will get out of it :)

Heh, finished watching "Ladies vs Butlers".

I'll actually write a review when I crawl out of my cave tomo...um later today.

I will say one thing though, the specials are *very* special.
If you are a guy, you need to watch them.
If you are girl who is into girls, you need to watch them.
Heck, even if you are a girl who is into guys, you should still watch them.

ALL of the girls make an appearance, even the Head Maid and Principle show up. YoW!

Like I said, some pretty special stuff.  :o :o :o :o

I actually had a hard on on those specials, although it's just drawn erotic stuff, it was still fairly impressive.

So close to Hentai it's not funny.

If you are a guy, I can almost guarantee you will have a 'bone of stone' when you see some of the 'action' in the specials.

Ninja girl is, well, HOT.  :D

Well, seeing as how I'm already here....

IT'S REVIEW TIME!

Well, we all know which anime I'm going to review, so lets get on with it.

Ladies vs Butlers has;

Ladies, Maids, pantsu, breasts, boing, insane hair, ecchi and of course, Butlers.

Did I mention it has breasts?

Lets meet the characters!

Hino Akiharu
: Our 'hero'. He is at the Academy because.... he has no where else to go. Apparently the fees at the Academy are waived for whatever reason. He is training to become a Butler.
Saikyou Tomomi: She apparently knows Hino from an earlier point in her life. This qualifies her as a 'childhood friend'. You know what that means. She is Sernia's rival is all things.
Selnia Iori Flameheart: Is Tomomi's rival in all things. Has a strong belief in her family honor. Has awesome hair that reacts to her mood, which earns her the nickname 'Drill' from Hino.
Ayse Khadim: A very attractive Indian lady that doesn't talk much. She is watched over by.....
Hedyeh: An equally attractive body guard, who is skilled with many different weapons and would seem to be a match for a Ninja, but Indian style.
Pina Sformklan Estoh: A princess, who is also an otaku. She is into cosplay in a big way and later in the anime manages to get a number of the cast to cosplay with her.
Sanae Shikikagami: One of two sisters at the Academy. Sanae is a Maid, but she is a bit of a klutz. She will probably cause the world to end one day.
Saori Shikikagami: The other Shikikagami sister. Saori is a 'Lady', but she seems to be absent minded and has a strange habit that manifests at unpredictable times/places.
Mimina Ōsawa: Looks like a 10 year old, but is really 19. Really. Is a very good artist and becomes friends with Hino due to one of Tomomi's schemes that succeeds beyond all expectations.
Kaoru Daichi: Hino's room mate. He is a bit standoffish, but gets used to Hino eventually. Finds Hino annoying.
Shingo Todoroki: A Butler in training and one the few males at the Academy. He is a professional pervert and his only real reason for being there at all is the fact that all of the females at the Academy are cute!
Mitsuru Sanke: A Butler in training. Well behaved, polite guy who is generally liked by the Maids and Ladies at the Academy.
Kaede Tenjōji: The Academies Principal. She is an excitable lady, who enjoys playing eroge, so much so that she spends a little too much time doing so. Pina spends a lot of time with her when they discover they have a common interest in anime.
Mikan: The 'Head Maid' at the Academy and a lady to be respected and feared. Keeps a close eye on Shingo, as she knows of his perverse attitude. Has the ability to throw fountain pens with deadly force and accuaracy.

The story centers around our hero, 'Hino', a guy who looks a little suspicious because of a scar on his face.

Then there are 'Selnia Iori Flameheart' and 'Saikyou Tomomi', who are rivals in, well, pretty much everything.

In the first episode, we meet Hino as he is walking into the school.

Tomomi has been told to meet Hino and welcome him to the school, but at an earlier point Tomomi has upset Selnia, who has stormed away to walk off her anger and encounters.... Hino.

Seeing a 'suspicious' looking person, Selnia harasses Hino and they eventually end up in a compromising position, which turns into a mad chase through the school grounds, with Hino accidentally causing a number of female students to faint and generally not doing a lot for his reputation at the school.

Finally Hino ends up near Tomomi, who saves him from the 'mob'.

This is how Hino's life at the Academy begins.

As this anime moves along we discover that Tomomi has a 'dark side' to her and is not above manipulating people for her own ends.
She gets bored easily and that spells trouble for Hino, her 'child hood friend'.

As we go further into the anime, we discover that Tomomi and Selnia are indeed rivals in all things, from academic prowess to body proportions and.... love.

In order for the Butlers and Maids to advance, they have to take special 'exams', which involve getting a 'card' from one of the Ladies.
Once this happens they are required to do as told before hand by the Head Maid, Mikan.

During one of these exams, where Hino takes a 'card' from Selnia, the instructions are to stay at her home for 3 days and observe the servants working there in order to gain knowledge of how to do his work properly.
Selnia doesn't know of these instructions and the look on her face when she is told this is quite funny.
This stay at Selnia's house also brings about a few plot changes.

Of course, any anime that has guys and girls in it, will also have some sort of romance happening, and LvsB is no different.

Certain characters come to realize that maybe they like Hiro a bit more than they thought they did, including a rather surprising one.

In the last episode we discover that Hino is very dense when it comes to certain matters, so dense in fact that he makes bricks look like water, to the disgust of many of the characters.

Ladies vs Butlers is, when you get right down to it, an ecchi comedy of epic proportions.

There are very few episodes where there isn't an 'ecchi moment' of some sort, whether it is Sanae being a Klutz and ending up with her panties exposed on the floor after making a mess or a general 'bath scene'.

It's all very well done in most cases, it's not offensive and when it's in an unusual place, it is very often funny.

My favorite character would have to be Sanae Shikikagami, she means well and tries hard, but she is a major Klutz. Imagine my delight when I discovered she has a sister!

Do I think there is a second season coming? Heck yes.
It could end here, but I'm betting it doesn't.
There are a number of things that really need to be finished up and sorted out, least of all Daichi's..... interesting situation.

Do I think they can top the ecchiness of this series in the next season?
Not by a heck of a lot. Much more and it will cross into 'Soft Hentai' territory, but that wouldn't be a bad thing if it was well done.

If like ecchi and you like a laugh, try this.

Next up is "Umineko no Naku koro Ni". From the little bit I've seen so far, this looks like it will be much different from Ladies vs Butlers.

Sanae Shikikagami
Saori Shikikagami

little pun with their names :)
I bet a lot of people know what a Shikigami is :)

most of the names in this show are word play, changed some Japanese words to form a unique name, in turn you can have some laugh from the point you hear the name actually :)

Heh, I got the Shikigami one almost right away, having the subtitles sure does help.

I liked LvsB quite a bit, all of the girls had their own special 'something' that made me like them, even the super loli, Mimina, although I found her to be more 'aww cute' than 'hot cute', which is probably exactly what the producers of this anime were aiming for......or at least I hope they were.

Mikan, the 'head maid' looks good in sports gear and the principal just looks good! :)```

I must admit, I liked Pina, the cosplay princess quite a bit.
She is very cute in her 'Magical Girl' costume, which doesn't leave much to the imagination.

Not quite DFC, but definitely Loli looking.

Well then.

Time for the 4 episode mini review.

Currently I am watching "Umineko no Naku koro Ni".

OMG.

This is one impressive anime. The artwork is outstanding. Character design is extremely good. The story is very strong so far.

BUT (you knew it was coming) I have no idea how they are going to make this run out to the 26 episodes.

So far, out of the 18 people in the cast...... THIRTEEN of them are DEAD. That leaves 5 characters alive.

In FOUR episodes.

To put it plainly, I don't think they can afford to kill off any more of the cast, but if things keep going the way they are, there are going to be more deaths before too long.

This looks like it's going to be an interesting ride.
