questions on using ASUS Download Master app

(1/2) > >>

kohyewchuan:
There's a new ASUS router on sale in the market where I lived and it has a torrenting app (built-in) called Download Master. Is it ok to use for torrenting BakaBT torrents. if it is not supported I shall go to get the DNS-323 NAS with Transmission (default built-in client for torrenting + whitelisted). However, the ASUS router is a much cheaper option.

does anyone on BakaBT use it? Any recommendations.

P.S. Wanna go 24/7 seeding but using a gaming rig PC to do it is hurts my wallet.

CRxTRDUDE:
Btw, It's still preferable to use "uTorrent". Tinkering something you don't know might do something bad.
But it doesn't hurt to try...

K7IA:
Check if "Download Master" is based on libtorrent or anything that is whitelisted here, look at the online documentation.

otherwise go with D-Link

kohyewchuan:
Utorrent will be my main client and always. However, seeding with my only PC (mentioned gaming rig) cost a lot of electricity bills. At least the D-link built-in Transmission client is whitelisted + wikia on making to work. The ASUS router on the other hand seems on par with D-link's. Building a mini PC to run utorrent cost a lot than getting an NAS.

Until there's an NAS that uses utorrent in the future, I had to stick my seeding on the one available.

reply K7IA:
thanks for the tip, will look into it.

Xiong Chiamiov:
Even if the client uses libtorrent(-rasterbar), it'll still have it's own peer_id, and thus not be whitelisted.

Your only hope (for using that NAS with BakaBT) is to install one of the whitelisted clients on it, which you can do with some NASes, but not others; I don't know about this one.
