I love snow when I don't have to drive in it but I hate it when I have to get somewhere or had plans to go out

I'm in the uncommon "despise it" categories. When you're trying to get from A to B and the floor is like an ice rink, trying to avoid the wankers with too much time on their hands tossing snowballs at anyone trying to leave the building (we don't get snow enough, so guaranteed there will be a few of these wherever you seem to go), being knocked over by a guy with a toboggan and continuing on your way knowing your ass is going to be numb from the cold in a few moments. This year it cancelled my driving test, and every time I want to get some practice I need to spend 15 minutes scraping and de-icing the car. Not that half the country has any fuel because of the ice. It also leaves me with issues when I want to go out for a smoke, especially as I'm nocturnal due to work. You try standing out in a blizzard wearing nothing but a dressing gown and a pair of boxers at 3am.

I can agree that to look at its evocative and beautiful. I just wish it would stay the fuck away from me.

It's cold and wet and generally irritating.

I believe that I should never feel cold if I'm wearing a sweatshirt over my tshirt and jeans, and that limit is broken far before water's freezing point.

It also strongly discourages me from wearing flip-flops.

Not when I have to go through it. Even without ice, it makes roads treacherous to walk on, not to mention driving a bike through it. And if it doesn't melt fast enough, it freezes, making things even more hazardous.

Basically, it's nice to look at from my bedroom window, but other than that, I can't stand the stuff.

I love snow!
I love skiing in it.
I love laying in it.
I love diving in it.
I love driving in it.
I love cycling in it.
I love building from it.
I love playing around in it.
I love swimming in it while naked.

And what's with all this about it takes double the time to get everywhere if there's snow? Unless we're talking about roads over 80 km/h it has no effect to the speedlimit whatsoever.

This year it cancelled my driving test
It what? You're serious aren't you? Cancelled youre driving test? As in with a car? With a bike I could understand it somewhat but if it was with a car...
Well, let's just say that would be hilarious.  ;D

They closed a lot of roads off for snow. The UK isn't used to it. I'm sure I already explained that. :P

I FUCKING HATE SNOW.

It's up there in my list of things I hate the most ever since moving away from home. Getting to school is a fucking drag since I bike, and walking takes fucking 30 minutes. ARG.

Everything is a slower process when there's snow: shopping, laundry, going somewhere. I MISS SUMMER.

Also, it messes up my running hours since I don't want to fall on ice. Now I have to pay to get inside to get exercise. D:

What vehicle are we talking about here?
Even motorcycles are very much usable in snow. They're just not as good and need more skill.

doesn't cause so much trouble in Finland :P Probably becasue we are used to it xD
Well, I'm waiting that are we going to run out of places where to dump all the snow they gather...
Last year it caused big ruckus, we didn't have places wgere to dump the snow that was not needed xD

Well, for those who hate cold, I hate it when temperature outside goes over 22C >:(
I may lose consiousness if it goes over 28C... The -5C is just perfect, It is the perfect weather to move around in T-Shirt. I did that again today... Walked around in T-shirt the whole day when I was at school...

It's got a possibility to put the roof on, right?
So what's lacking? Skill?
Only one option.
Take it out more!  ;D

I'm quite skilled in the snow thank you... I've driven 400hp rear wheel vehicles in a foot of snow.  It's do-able, is it particularly safe? No!

My concern isn't my level of skill, it is the level of safety.  My vehicle does not have ABS, is front heavy, rear wheel... and is not designed for snow.
My 2nd car, was front wheel... had abs and traction control... and was quite easy to drive in the snow, considerably more so than the Stang.  I do not desire to subjugate myself in a dangerous situation (a foot of snow with a stang is not particularly safe).

Aside from that, I don't like snow in the first place... I hate the cold, and I dislike falling on my ass due to some ice strategically placed under a white coating.  I do not like what the salt (that is used to melt the snow) does to my car.

Snow is pretty for all of a day, then it becomes mixed with mud and dirt... and just becomes a nuisance!

I like fresh, untouched snow. Sadly it turns to mud sooner (much much sooner) rather than later, at which point I hate it.

Are you deaf as well as blind, woman? I'm not a carpet to walk over and I
distinctly heard myself speak. If I pinch your bottom, you can slap my face, but until I do, I expect a civil word for a civil word!

I don't see how that makes it less safe that it's RWD or front heavy.
If it's front heavy, that's good for safety. It stops faster, it goes where you want it to go when you really need it to, which is when you have to evade something.
RWD is mostly a problem if you're not skilled with them or you like to accelerate a lot and fast. The clutch's there if you need it. As for driving through a lot of snow, just stay on the same tracks(the same goes for FWD's and reversing, also propably the best option after 4WD in snow).
ABS can be replaced with some training, not completely in winter but pretty well.

Falling on your ass in winter, I wonder when I've last had that. It's so far away I can't even remember. Enough falls and you start to want to stay up.  ;D

God damn road salt, good thing most cars are well protected against it. Some however...(I'm looking at YOU 99 Ford Focus!)
But motorcycles, AI CARAMBA! If you don't wash it afterwards it's bound to be rusting through in one winter.

Because we can!

Yeah, driving tests are cancelled as it gives people an unfair advantage due to the difficulty of driving in it.

Front heavy vehicles do no stop quicker, they are prone to the rear end kicking out... and worse yet, have terrible control around corners.  Have you not seen a truck try to get up a hill whilst swaying it's rear end side to side (this is why people put weight in the bed).

The lack of ABS also causes almost immediate loss of traction when using the brake, sure you can pump the breaks... but I assure you, a computer can pump your breaks much faster than YOU can.

The more power, the less traction.  I, as many sport vehicle owners, do NOT have posi-traction and it is quite easy to get stuck.  Anyone with a vehicle like mine would know this.
