I'd say, morinth is what Asari really are, slut, screws everything that moves, and kills mercilessly, that is Asari, no matter how you look at them, the expanse of their territory and culture turned them to more civil when they found the Citadel, even more so.

Samara is the better choice indeed, at least she takes responsibility for her own actions, Liara used to be different too, it seems Asari are easily corrupt, but I guess stress and power does that to anyone. Personally, i am a very evil natured person, I would gladly kill 85% of mankind, but I would do it gently and quickly, nearly instantly is possible, but I would still do it, and why ? because I believe there are far too many of us for our own good. You can say I am Chaotic Neutral. Reapers don't care what happens with life, they just do what they were programmed with so long ago they probably don't even remember who built them, and I bet someone did. Morith kills whatever, whenever, however, best during sex, you can say Asari are a humanity^3, we are like them, just not as badass.

I am proud to say that I imported my save game from ME1 to ME2. It changed som many small things, but gave a much better atmosphere in Mass Effect 2. All the small things like email from Emily Wong in which she nags for an interview because I promised her that in return for some cash in ME1, and Urdnot Wrex that gave me the warmest welcome thus making guards who hindered me shit bricks (probably...).

In any way the developers have said that being faithful to Ashley or Liara will be rewarded in ME3, and personally I had no problem staying faithful to Liara because of the Shadowbroker DLC which in my opinion had one of the most awesome missions in the game. Hell, in ME2 I even had Liara as a temporary team member... I just love the combat chatter between Shepard and liara when they kill waves of enemies while waiting for the device to crack the door open. They even put a reference to ME1 omni gel system

:

*Liara explains that the device needs time to break through the door security and they need to hold off the enemies*
Shepard - Remember the good old times when we could slap omni gel on everything?
Liara - Since those times securtiy was upgraded, pissed off a lot of people.

*after killing a few waves*
Liara - They would be more successful if they came in bigger force.
Shepard - Don't give tactics to the enemy.

Hell, for romantics out there, that DLC provided a romance better intergrated romance than what ME1 had for Liara. I so hope liara will be a permanent companion in ME3.

Besides I want to see if Joker and EDE will continue their borderline flirting relationship... Those two had the best dialogues in the game.

Also if ME3 is anything like Me2, then I should be rewarded with extra credits, xp and paragon/renegade points for just importing my savegame from ME2.

Oh and about how Tali looks under her mask, I say Quarians are like space elves... at least their faces are. Slim stature, eye shape and general facial features that you see through the mask... Quarians are Eldar in disguise.

You played it later when Shadowbroker was released? I couldn't wait that long and had my fun and then in a replay the faithful way (especially after Shadowbroker was released)

Those inbetween conversations have been dearly missed in general in ME2. A lot of people have stated that and I agree.

I played it as a marathon, ME1 and then ME2 as soon as I was finished with the first one. By that time all DLC were released for both games. In ME2 I installed about 20 DLC before I even started the game. Shadowbroker DLC felt like a full fledged expansion pack though... it is even 1,5Gb in size.

yeah the chatter during combat is well missed, i guess the mood changed from being a kick ass bad ass SPECTRE to GOD I HAVE TO SAVE THE GALAXY AGAIN TODAY, however it was rewarding during recruitment of Samara, the best two with you should be Tali and Garrus.

Garrus: nobody told me we can refuse a suicide mission !
Tali: that's nearly twice a day !
Shepard: At least I'm considerate (started laughing hard here)

so yeah, there is definitely not enough chat in ME2, and Bioware knows about it, hopefully they will bring it back to ME3, as for it being rewarding to being faithful to Ashley or Liara, well, i don't see how about Liara, she became a Shadow Broker, hardly enough time to do much, but I guess controlling the Galaxy can wait for a few hours of squid love with a human. As for Ashley, She nearly bitch slapped me when I saw her on the colony world, DO NOT WANT ! I liked her, I really did, I even overlooked the fact she is a god believer, at least she is practical about it and doesn't go to a church to pray, smart believers know that they can pray even in a toilet cabin, god will still hear them out probably, but since I could make romance plot with Tali, nothing else matters

I can imagine the reapers targeting governments, big corporations and intelligence networks. I bet I will have to pull her out of a falling ship that is teared by lightning storm after a reaper decided to take a shot at it. At least that is how Biowar loves to make recruiting missions... always come at the last moment to save the day.

Never liked Ashley myself, a rabid religious fanatic that is not even attractive...

As for Tali, I don't see how I would want romance with a space elf in a hermetically sealed suit that speaks with eastern European accent.

She is fun to have when you do Legion loyalty mission though.

I hope ME3 won't be like ME2 in main mission design. It was like... 3 recruitment missions and a story mission. Rinse and repeat... Please get a good mix from ME1 and ME2 ;_;

Well, if it is xenophobe in "Illusive Man" way, I don't mind. The cold calculating way to forward humanity better in intergalactic society and eventually rise above everyone else, while protecting humanity from alien influence that could potentially weaken humanity as a race.

Ashley's xenophobia is more like that of a hillbilly from a whites-only village near Mississippi. besides shee gives the impression of being dumb... Urdnot Wrex seems intelligent in comparison to her.

How many times in scifi games do you see a racist soldier who believes in god and does aikido?
She was different, that's why she was awesome.
And yeah, she's dumb as a toad.

Oh, and Wrex isn't nearly as dumb as he let on most of the time. He just has a different look on things.

I'm just looking forward to having all my choices from the first 2 games impact the third one. Between having saved the Rachni Queen, largely suggested Mordin cured the Genophage, reintegrated the indoctrinated(and reprogrammed) Geth in the collective(Hopefully to create indoctrination-resistant Geths) and having the council actually owe me one, I expect to have one heck of an army to face down the Reapers. An EPIC army too.

All that's needed is for the Quarians to find a new world to call home and then it'll also be one heck of a fleet.

ME3 is going to be epic.

The only bridge I burnt was the Illusive Man and the Collector Base because as if I'd let a thing that kills humans to birth a Reaper to an unregulated organization like Cerberus. I'd half expect them to test it on every non-human race in the galaxy. And it's not like they couldn't, being so close to Omega and the Terminus systems and slavers and all.

Almost the same here. Except I let the council die in the first game. I just couldn't save a ship full of politicians and beurocrats that did everything they could to make my job difficult.

I say they had it coming. It's like: "There are no reapers, you human is just a raving lunatic, we are so much wiser and better than you."

Then when a fucking reaper attacks them they go all like: "Oh no, we cower in the biggest battleship instead of staying at citadel and take responcibility, and now we are attacked so please divert the ships from the alliance that belongs to humans whom we ignored in our holier than thou attitude."

So I think, why? Why would I even consider protecting that rotten bunch? If Asari, Turians and Salarians are so great and mighty, they can look after themselves. I don't care if the human fleet can still win after saving them, this was my way to bitchslap the council.

Politics

Your arguments are correct but rescuing them in addition to defeating the Sovereign only shows the whole galactic community how superior the human race is

Theoretically the Quarians could get their old homeworld back if they can accept the Geth. I mean Legion said it, they are only caretakers of the planet until the Creators return (iirc).

The developers said in an interview that even decisions in ME1 will have impact in ME3 so I'm not really worried about that yet.

Plus, having saved their sorry asses means that when the reaper army shows up on their scanners, I can be like:

"I told you so! And I know what to do, give me command of all of your armies now."

It's going to be the most satisfying "I told you so!" EVER. ...Though in ME2 they really made me regret saving them when I met with them. But patience will give me the last laugh! ...And a giant army. Oh yes. It's all about the giant army.

I plan to replay both ME games over the summer in preparation, because I want to re-choose a few things, and now that I got Lair of the Shadowbroker I want to not cheat on Liara, because that really sucked. Having seen that trailer though, I *REALLY* wonder how big of an impact it would have to give the Illusive Man the Collector base at the end.

I'd love to replay both games but just remembering all the sidequests from ME1 gives me the shivers. Except for a dead Fist I have a good savegame of ME1. But I guess I will replay ME2 (for an umpteenth time xD) with all the DLCs. BW has announced a (last?) (hopefully story) DLC.

Well, I did not discarded politics either. I actually believe that having a human led council with my friend Anderson in it will be more helpfull, than a stronger alien led council that ignores everything I say.

Think about it, if the developers made you regret saving the council in ME2, what makes you think they will give you a "I told you so" opportunity? We can speculate, but one cool thing about roleplay games is when you actually take actions that you really mean and not because you know that they will give you certain paragon or renegade points...

That is of course a shitty thing about ME games, if you go 50/50 on para/renegade, then you will fail in most conversations. Personally I boosted those points with skills so I am at 100% para and about 30% renegade. Renegade actions are really useful in ME2 and this one is my favourite:

And it worked.

And given the trailer for ME3, I fail to see how I WON'T have the "I told you so" option, what with the invasion actually happening and all.

The Illusive Man also plays a prominent role, and Cerberus is out to kill Shepard. Reason why is unknown at this point.

The RPG elements are being beefed up, not going back to ME1, but giving more freedom with the character skills. Skill trees will be larger, and powers will evolve several times instead of just once, offering even more freedom. Weapons are ME2 style, with a set list, but mods make a return, not in the ME1 style, but allowing you to swap out different parts such as barrels, scopes, and so on, which effect both the weapon's combat performance and its appearance.

All classes can wield all weapons unhindered now, but will have limited slots to carry them. Only the Soldier can carry all weapons at once. Probably means Adept, Engineer, and Sentinal will be limited to two, and Vanguard and Infiltrator will have three.

Also mentioned: The game will have numerous endings, some good, some bad, and who you have in your squad and which allies you recruit can have a drastic effect on which are available.

That's basically the gist of it, except for the sidebars filled with stuff everyone already knows.

James Sanders is not the sniper from the trailer. Has been confirmed (EDIT: no source as I only read it on the site I mentioned way down this comment and they too don't list a source >_>)

I read this information earlier today on a German games site. Nifty stuff but I'm still cautious (not that it would prevent me from buying it though :O Too much a fan of the ME universe)
