Thinking about changing ISP..

(1/1)

kimdrummel:
Just got a quick question; If you change ISP and get a new IP address, will it be possible for me to just continue seeding the same torrents from the new IP address?
I've been on other torrent sites where you have to report to the staff if you get a new IP so that you can continue your seeding. I've read in the FAQ that you may not seed the same torrent on the same account from two different computers at the same time. But that shouldn't apply if my IP is changed and i continue seeding like normal, right? In a sense it would be like logging out from one PC and shutting down the torrents and then start everything up again on a new one. I take it that you catch my drift. :)

Takeshi:
Your stats are tracked through a passkey which is included in the torrents you download while being logged in with your account. So yes, you can safely change ISP, and continue seeding once you get access to your new internet.

blubart:
no need to report to us - it's as Takeshi described.

Freedom Kira:
Many people change their IP addresses all the time, it's something called dynamic IP, which is pretty common. Mine changes approximately once every six months. If this was a problem, it would be a rather big problem.

kimdrummel:
Ok, thanks guys.  :)
