UDP Tracker. That may slip past whatever PLDT use.
Other people have had success with Teredo Tunneling IPv6 > IPv4 UDP.

Other trackers may work because they are not Private Torrents. So DHT, Peer Exchange and Local Peer Discovery are at work doing their thing allowing the discovery of additional peers without the need for the Tracker. Private Torrents disable this and you rely purely on a Tracker

Protocol encryption only encrypts the traffic between peers and not tracker

yes these are all correct imo.

Once the BitTorrent client receives a peer list, the P2P (not the tracker) communication will need to be encrypted to prevent detection. Some members seem to have acquired the list of peers from BakaBT tracker, but only able to connect to other PLDT subscribers, not all peers.

UDP, unfortunately, is a totally different story. The UDP BitTorrent tracker communication is binary and Apache httpd doesn't support listening on UDP/IP ports (which BakaBT runs on - at least it was).

This thread is about philippines pldt&smartbro user, you already downloaded 14gig and only uploaded 400mb you better start downloading freeleech torrents and seed until you reach at least 16gig upload.
The reason I posted here is because I am from the Philippines and my Peer exchange and Local Peer Discovery is always not working when I am seeding here in BakaBT. I can seed just fine in other sites but they are not as good as this site is.
I admit I am not a pldt or smartbro user, though. And I'll keep in mind your advice about the uploads. Thanks. :)

Members who see seeds/peers more than 0 (zero) on their torrents and still "unable to connect to those peers (leech/seed)" should enable Protocol encryption and uncheck Allow incoming legacy connections on uTorrent which is accessible through the Options > Preferences > BitTorrent screen on uTorrent. that is if you haven't done so already

This is really working, but with 1 exception..
I can only seed (get peers connected) to torrent files I'm currently downloading
but I can't seem to Seed to finished torrents..

1 more thing, I still get a peers(0) seeds(0) even after this method

I have my local telco as my ISP in Cincinnati, and the similar thing happened to me. 2.2 would not download or seed, it was refused by the tracker. 2.0.4 works fine. Not upgrading.

Hello BakaBT users,

Here is my status/info , I hope this help.
using utorrent 2.2 (latest)
using PLDT plan 999
- NGN Network
- speed DL 1.5Mbps UL .5Mbps
- current IP 112.x.x.x (not same as mentioned in the news at bakaBT site)

I can do the ff:
- download and upload with no problem
- my downloads and upload does not registered on the tracker
- even if I'm only uploading, i see my stats both downloading and uploading
- my tracker is reporting that I'm using "Apache-HttpClient/4"

Notes:
- DHT , Local Peer Discovery and Peer Exchange - not working on bakaBT, but works with others like nyaatorrents
- my Ratio is not updating T_T
- i can see my uploads with other countries, but does not update my ratio
- I'm from the Philippines
- I tried to change the tracker still no effect (ex. bakabt.dot.ch , and 95.211.6.148:2710 )
- I notice this problem on Dec 19, 2010 +8gmt time, because I can't max out my download speed in bakaBT

After reading, I've done the following

Disabled "Allow Incoming Legacy Connections"
Enabled/Forced "Protocol Encryption"
Changed Port several times

Changed Tracker url to bakabt.dot.ch or 95.211.6.148 and no changes.

Using utorrent 2.0.4

Enable proxy for tracker only and not for P2P

http://torrentproxy.org/

Been trying each proxy one by one and one worked but I've yet to connect to a peer; I have seed/peers in swarm but that's all it is.

Hello,

This is my first post.  This thread was brought to my attention by a friend who was having the same problems and is also on PLDT.  Since I'm not an expert on computer networking (just a PC hobbyist), I posted a link to this thread at the PinoyPC website (http://forum.pinoypc.net/index.php?topic=53330.0) to get some opinions.  I thought I'd share it here.  You might find some useful information there to solve your problems.

HTH.

according to the pinoypc thread. the guys @ PLDT are using intercepting proxies. anyone here know how to circumvent em?

what did the smartbro said? do they intercept things like PLDT does?

I mean, if its not there doing, then could be that its an outside source? we can't tell much but is someone called the PLDT yet?

in the first place, why do they intercept it? we dont do harm in their end, we just seed the things we DL... I hope we can settle this problem as soon as possible, many of us do our part to seed and some of us do upload...

To people asking PLDT's stand on this, just called CS.

I asked re: my DSL not being able to upload in bittorrent for the past few days.

1st reply Sir maybe it would be your PC.

Me: I have a Cousin next door who also has PLDT and has the same symptoms.

2nd reply Sir Maybe the software you are using is the culprit.

Me: I've just tried around 5 different clients and same symptoms.

3rd Maybe the website

Me: I don't think so.

I asked him also if there are other people who reported regarding this, He said "No sir You are the first"

Fellow PLDT users can you confirm this?
I called at December 22, 5:22pm GMT+8 to be exact.

Side note, CS is also using bittorrent Smiley

For the usual BS.
1 There are no reported problems on our side and on your connection.
2 Continue to Monitor it for a few days.

It is possible that CS is kept in the dark or worse they are feigning ignorance(lest they lose their job), whichever is more believable.

Note* Interesting to hear a CS saying he also uses Bittorrent to download.

@all

I have tried a proxy and it didn't help.

The ones listed in

http://torrentproxy.org/

Most gave me a socket error.
One proxy worked for me and later on joined the socket error group.

Either way, I still couldn't seed to any peer.

what? can you clarify your question? and don't call me sir, call me Kyrdua-sensei screw the honorifics.

EDIT: BTW, the proxy i used barely has any effect on my upload speed for some reason.
