hmm...guyz have you tried using "Vuze" or from before its called "Azureus"? im using it instead utorrent in my laptop, but i got the same problem, after I downloaded my anime "natsume yuujinchou" season1 and 2, im trying to seed them but still, i cant share my seed...

my ISP is smartbro and when i look my share ratio its colored red and same as the NAT...

anyone help me, I mean can you provide me some answers....

using a proxy server is a bad idea. informs of that tracker detects multiple keys/users on certain IP address, and thus wont update your stats as expected.  :'(

unless the admins are willing to do some exceptions of usage on proxy servers. Im sure every ISP does have their own proxy servers running (atleast here in philippines).  

Globelines does have their own proxy server. Wireless subscribers are running through transparent proxy server.
SmartBRO does also have their own proxy server.
BayanDSL also have Squid proxy server on their side (though it only accepts IE and FF and other Browser UserAgents... using it on other applications will result your connection being resetted).
PLDT does not have proxy server.. atleast all their subscribers are running on a transparent proxy server.


I think GlobeLines/Globe Tatoo ISP provider does have 30GB bandwidth limit per month (combination of UL and DL) so its really a bad idea to use it for seeding torrents.

SmartBRO does also have their own proxy server.

Well the problem is smartbro passes through pldt's base station so it also gets blocked.

I'm a smartbro user and I'm experiencing the same stuff as pldt users here.

Can  BakaBT have HTTPS on their tracker? ie the announce is encrypted end to end?
that may be the only way to prevent crap like this. (similar to a VPN I suppose)

Meh, if its a problem with PLDT, then as PLDT subscribers, we are really screwed.

I highly doubt they'll fix this (if they don't know of it), and calling their CS hotline won't really do justice as, well, they'll just shrug off your concern.

It seems that PLDT has configured their proxy server to divert all incoming/outgoing traffic, regardless of port/program, to/from 95.211.6.148 [bakabt domain] to a block of ip address' [122.55.255.x] and modifies 1 or more of the packet properties like changing "uTorrent/2200" to "Apache-HttpClient/4". This screws up the ul / dl ratio data that bakabt needs to update your stats. But in PLDT's end this will improve *their* network efficiency.

using a proxy will only *tell* bakabt that you are not using a proxy though I think you are still going through PLDT's proxy server, this may help w/ the uploads but will not help your ratio.
and using a proxy server is also a security risk if you are using it w/ your home connection.

from what I know it could be like this.

**You connecting to BakaBt w/o proxy --> PLDT Filter [going to BakaBt?! go here] --> PLDT Torrent User Proxy Server [modify packet] --> BakaBt [unable to update ratio due to packet modification]

**You connecting to BakaBt w/ proxy --> PLDT Filter [going to BakaBt?! go here] --> PLDT Torrent User Proxy Server [modify packet] --> External Proxy [modify modified packet] --> BakaBt [unable to update ratio due to packet modification]

**You connecting to Google --> PLDT Filter [going to Google? go here] --> PLDT Normal Proxy Server --> Google

In my opinion there can be 5 options,

* BakaBt exempts philippine users or users w/ ISP proxy issues from the "one ip multiple key rule" and changes the BakaBt Network settings so that the ul/dl ratio are updated.

* The Https option.

* An alternate tracker w/ a different ip address / different domain for philippine users or users w/ ISP proxy issues. Since a different ip address / domain will not be included on their filter list so it will not go through their "torrent user proxy server". It will then take them some time to track where the large amount of uploads are coming from before adding the domain to their filter list.

* Switch over to a Business Account/Plan so that your connection won't go to their proxy.

* Somebody h**k their server and change the proxy server settings.

makes a lot of sense for them to do it, but why just bakabt? aren't there bigger fishes around?

It might work (will definitely do more than just correcting the Dl/Ul ratio) but it might be very impractical cuz you'll gonna be dealing with a big corporation with heavy stuff. PLDT is a telephone, cellphone, and multimedia company. Destrying them and you get big news in PH... (just for a Dl/Ul fix in BakaBT)

I am a smart wimax user here. I just noticed this problem today. God damnit!
I just subscribed to this service 2 days ago....

I used to use PLDT weroam and it is working fine.

With smart wimax i am now getting onlyl 4 connections from seeders..

OMG I am able to seed. I didn't do nothing much other than enable encrpytion of outgoing and using random ports. Keep in mind that this is the very same setting as before which I had trouble with. Dunno what happened but I decided to double check with baka, and this is what I got.



Alas, I think while I am uploading shit as per utorrent, BakaBT is still showing that I am not seeding anything. Sigh. Guess I had my hopes up there.... Though it is a more distinct improvement to the past week where I couldn't even seed at all.



This one is wierd. Highlighted one is now showing likely ME seeding. The numbers are somewhat different but it wasn't when I noticed it a few seconds before taking this screenshot. Is PLDT really doing some server fixing or they're getting a ton of people complaining about their little dirty secret?

Update: Hmm.. not really sure what's going on but here's to hoping. I'll monitor the situation and see about any possible changes in the following days.... lol

I wasn't gonna reply because I thought this didn't concern me, but when I checked my bakabt stats, it wasn't updating.

The reason I can't seed much is because of my crappy internet speed. I have about 30~50 kbps for DL, but I can live with that. For UL, I can go around 5~20kbps for other trackers, and about 1-2kbps for bakabt.

Now though, I can't connect to any peers, and some, like what the mod said, only shows one peer (which I can only assume is myself). I can seed fine, just like before, 5~6 kbps for deepbone and nyaa, but none at all for bakabt. Also, my stats aren't updating, whether DL or UL.

I'm using PLDT DSL.

The Philippines is a third world country. Third world countries reek of corruption and red tape. Good luck to us ever getting compensated when this is over if it's ever gonna happen in the NEAR future.

F**k, we ain't got consumer rights, human rights, freedom of speech, nothing gets done in court.. well,  cases involve personal interests and gains from people of power if they ever do. Hell, companies can lie or misguide on TV commercials and no one sues. IIRC, it was the oldest member of our senate who got pissed when he gets ripped off of his cellphone load, brought the matter into court or senate (can't remember clearly) and nothing happened, we only got compensated in a way that isn't really related to the case at hand and one that wouldn't hurt them companies' pockets.

I'm a businessman - observed everything and experienced most of what i'm saying. Believe me when I say the country's hopeless.

A certain group of companies owns several businesses: wi-fi, sim card modems, dsl and cable internet.. ever figure why the most convenient one rarely gets advertised? and the inferior ones get the most promos? coz the inferior forms of service usually grants them more opportunities to rip off customers coz they know nothing happens in court for little common people.
