Actually that is quite true. In fact, I have something to tell about BayanTel.

On January 04, 2010, they posted this thread on the BayanTel forum, talking about limiting bandwidth usage to 100GB per month in accordance to their AUP. It started as soon as NTC brought the draft into the table last December 2010 I believe.

Now that the news tells us that NTC just scrapped bandwidth capping away, looks like Bayantel isn't reluctant to withdraw their policy about it. They say that bandwidth "Limiting" is different from "Capping" or "Throttling".

Watch out though, they have a nasty moderator there (unlike in this forum :) ). As a proof, look what they did with user "BOBLAKSNADNOC" on this page.
I actually pointed out how unprofessional it was of a moderator (especially whom represents BayanTel) to publicly ridicule and denounce a user, but then my post got deleted. Though if people wants, I can post the deleted message here for the kick and laughs.  ::)

Actually got a hold of Bayan a few minutes ago, CS told me to disregard that policy they were talking about in the forums. First reason was that the memorandum got blocked by the NTC. Second, it was still under wraps, but the agent I managed to talk with told his opinion about the matter, that they didn't have any memo regarding bandwidth caps yet, as well as he thinks that it won't be applicable due to the NTC decision to scrap the memo. I also asked Bayan CS a few weeks back, saying to disregard the idea, meaning it's probably just some mod trying to jump to conclusions.

Speaking of that mod, I also went to file a complaint on him, so yeah - justice be done LOL.

Oddly enough, i tried downloading WITHOUT AdvTor, and DL speed on bakabt is back to normal unlike before which was non-existent. Literally. Can't say the same for the UL speed though. I think the ISP's did this because of the holidays. They might have been expecting a huge volume of traffic during the holidays.

hmm, I hope what you're saying is really true.. I'ma check later connecting to bakabt w/out proxies if I still get Seeds 0(0) Peers 0(0)

----EDIT----

Still getting Seeds 0(0) Peers 0(0)   :-[

I think he checked the dl and ul speeds after stopping advtor and without restarting utorrent, I did this in the past too and was surprised that I had seeds and all but after restarting, they were back to zeroes. Damn you pldt making our lives more miserable than it already is.

I did restart utorrent. Remember to set your proxy to "none" in the utorrent configuration or else you will get this error "Proxy connection error: No connection could be made...".

I did that too and yea 0 seeds and peers for SOME of the torrents, while the ones that had peers and seeds are not uploading at all.

That is quite good to hear. In fact, I have to say that I'm quite impressed that you took the initiative to call their CS. Good job.

On a different note, I wish PLDT have its own forum so that we could all post our internet connection rage on it. :(

aaarrrgggghhhh! TOR is useless, I can no longer upload at PLDT, it's rare when it updates my ratio. The one uploading on my stats is from Globe, so I cannot delete the files on my globe connection

Well, that's the point. they didn't want to hear those. And globe here is strong with or without TOR (except it only limits to 50+ Kbps)

Well globe user doesn't actually need to use TOR anyway. since there not doing the same stuff of what pldt/smart is doing, only problem with globe is they throttle torrent though that's just a small issue since you can still use 80%.

Damn it, for how long are these telephone companies (PLDT/Smartbro) gonna keep us on waiting! It's almost 1 and a half month since they started blocking BakaBT trackers... I am scared to download anything because of my low ratio... I tried using all the suggestions in this thread, like using proxy (didn't work, since I can't seem to find a good one to connect with), using tor (it works, yes, but the ratio isn't moving at all, or maybe just a little), using AdvTor (still didn't work because I can't seem to connect too, whenever I press "Start Tor" it stays at 80% and continues to show "Failed to find node for hop 0 of our path. Discarding this circuit." for almost an hour.), and calling CS. I am losing all my options and I'm feeling quite desperate right now, so if anyone could help me, 'coz I really love the service here in BakaBT that's why I wanna do something about this f**k up s**t!!

BBT is a public tracker, you can download without logging in and it won't register the torrent to your account, though that would be called leeching, you did say you were desperate...

true, true... but from what I know not all links are given to public (I mean, the unregistered ones), correct me if I'm wrong though... so my problem is that there are so many awesome torrents here in bakabt that, as of the moment, I can't or rather shouldn't download now because of my low ratio.. Ahh, I miss the old times *sobs*...

Well if you know how to use IRC go to each fansub channel that subbed the anime you like and download it through there bot, though the speed ain't that fast most probably you'll only get 50kb/s max

yup, and that is why I like it here in bakabt, because my max DL here is about 240kb/s...and another thing is that here in BBT they have lots of hentai's and old animes which nowadays are hard to find even if I checked the site of the fansubbers.

So I just wish that this problem can be solved right away,

By the way, anyone still interested in a proxy?
Have a couple of seedboxes around that I could use as a SOCKS / HTTP / HTTPS proxy.

Just need to buy one of IPs for each person so that the tracker does not think that a person is multi-accounting. IPs are rather cheap to buy in bulk and batches after all.

Each person has a dedicated IP.
