Unable to seed (i really have no idea why)
« on: December 25, 2010, 03:20:45 AM »
The torrent file i am unable to seed is this http://bakabt.me/148611-kateikyoushi-hitman-reborn.html
i first started leeching this torrent a few months back and is now on 90~% before i got warned

being warned, i am unable to leech (obviously), so i simply skipped the "parts that i have not downloaded, so that i skip the leech and go straight to seeding what i have.
to my surprise my torrent is unable to correctly seed the files. tracker simply said that i am warned and not allowed to download (which i am not doing)
i have tried using different torrent clients and followed the manuals found at the Begineer's FAQ and FAQ pages, and no result is made.
however i noticed other torrents i got from bakaBT (like the ones on the screenshots) is working fine.

now i am using bitTorrent 7.2

the torrent file also do not appear on my user page, not in my active or inactive torrent list (am sure it is bad)
with this post i have links to screen shots to my client. hope these helps.

I am not 100% certain however...

Unfortunately the tracker will not consider you a seeder until you have completed the torrent (Downloading part of the torrent then skipping the rest does not make you a seeder according to the tracker). Till then you are considered a leecher and as such your traffic on that torrent has been halted.

You will have to resort to other methods outlined in the Wiki and other threads in the section that request assistance in gaining ratio.

That's exactly right, actually. The tracker frankly does not care whether you want to download more stuff - if you are warned, anything that is not 100% completed will grind to a halt.

This may change in the future if an admin wants to implement different functionality, but this is currently how it works.

So yes. read the Wiki. Fix your warning. And be happy again.

so... the tracker's the thing that's killing me :o
is this kind of method possible?:
1. find "exact" same file i'm missing from somewhere on the net (at least same name)
2. download it
3. paste it on my torrent folder
4. redo step 1-3 till i have everything
5. start seeding (again)

and... let's say i mistakenly put something "different" on my torrent folder, with a same name, would it break other leecher's files? or would the tracker/client find it different and won's use it for seeding at all?

... Either you cannot read our replies, or you cannot comprehend the meaning of the line that has been repeated over and over.

If you seriously need more spoon-feeding than that, search for "fixing ratio." I refuse to help you until you have actually read the resources provided and stop asking questions that are answered already.
