Gran Turismo 5
« on: December 26, 2010, 06:31:14 AM »
I'm kind of surprised not to see a post release GT5 thread here.

So who's down with GT?  I've been playing it off and on since release and I've generally been golding challenges except for a few of the special events and the seasonal.  The game's definitely not as awesome as I was hoping, but it's still worth a majority of my free time, so it's all good.

It's like a spiffier version of GT4. It has its fun.

This thread over here is about GT5. Yes it's comparing it to Forza 3. Yes it's about GT5. We don't need more threads to split conversations around.

that is kinda what a forum is for.
Specifically splitting the discussion between a argument post/ comparison post and a this game rules or sucks post is a bit different

Somebody likes their thread baby.

GT5 as I stated has it's place for fun. As a driving sim, well, I have a car and a streak of luck. B-Spec is sort of fun but fricken long. But it doesn't run around like Forza going, "We're the sporty cool kids and better than everything else." It's a console. Frik, if you want realism, go clean up your room or learn a skill.

Kind of what I thought, but I don't really feel like starting an online argument during the holidays, so I'll just take the 5 sec to bump an old thread.

Woah woah woah, i thought this was supposed to be about GT not Kinect  :P

The game is amazing. I don't play much because I spent too much time on my PC then I do in front of a TV.

I love GT5, the only thing I like more about Forza 3 is the more sophisticated damage modeling.

I like cars that aren't silver or beige.

Unfortunately, I have a thing for black and dark blue typicals, but yellow is to my fancy as well. Certain cars have to be a certain color though because they look better in those colors... (ie: Ferrari Red)

So much grinding for cash though... bspec~ing the mini cooper for the 18k. Probably will bspec the supercar nascar later on once I finish modding the R34 to compete with these other 600HP+ fuckers. (It truly is one of the cheapest options)

yet another reason I should've got a ps3... Played it at a mate's house, it's actually awesome. what other game lets you drift in a rally race... IN A GENERIC HATCHBACK
There must a be a reason for tanking things. And all must be in certain balance.
But what that balance is, must depend only on you, nobody else.

I find the game a fun game as an arcade game. As a simulation... well. I'd rather do other things.

Nurburgring is the most addicting track to race for time trials.

Also the most intense for licenses, i recently revisited GT4 and the pace car time lap took a number of shots, one ended on the corner before the super long straight, that made me ragequit :p

I was looking forward to playing GT5 until my ps3 was stolen a couple months before  :'(
