What was the last game that impressed you.
nstgc:
I was talking with one of my cousins and my brother about this on Christmas. This year I purchased Command and Conquer Red Alert 3 (plus Uprising), Dragon age (Origins and Awakening), Final Fantasy 13, Neverwinter Nights2: Shores of Zehar (or something) and both Mass Effect 1 and 2. None of them were really any good. On that list, the one I liked the most was Dragon Age Origins. I'm having problems getting NWN2: SoZ to run properly so it may be good. The last game I played that really impressed me I think was Neverwinter Nights, Hords of the Underdark, or Alpha Centauri.

Plasma Pong!
That game entangled me for years.... :P

Demons Souls
Otherwise really nothing since Crysis back when it first came out.

It's been a long time...
I wish I remembered... Fable 3, Dead Rising 2, DA:O, and Black Ops were cool for the first few days, but they didn't have a lasting appeal to me...
I've had some talks with my friends/co-workers about how games just aren't good anymore, and most of them agree. We're having troubles just finding games to pass the times now.
Last game I actually enjoyed playing (and would look forward to playing) was CoD4 (granted, we also stopped playing it sometime earlier this year... but that's just the last appeal that game had to us)

DotA I started playing it late and it impressed me a lot. I spent a lot of time on that and became quite good prior to moving on. I still had things to learn about it after several k hours spent.
On a smaller scale Valkyria Chronicles impressed me, it had its downsides though.
