I like that smithing is so easy to level up, hate wow type leveling to find different materials and shit because its so damn annoying =p

Thing is you dont have to powerlevel it, dont really need smithing to finish the game (maybe on highest difficulty), I only leveled it with stuff I find and around lvl 75-80 and my char is like 33.

Ask innkeepers for rumors and they will tell you about a kid that wants to summon them, go talk to him to start it

Havoc10K:
I know, but seriously, usually you just killed someone random and voila.

Bethesda changed a lot of stuff in Skyrim, some of the changes really don't make sense to me.
It's not like the game is bad with those changes, it's just that it doesn't feel like a TES game anymore, no stat boosting, no spellmaking, no enchanting gear with whatever you want. This is an example of sacrificing the better stuff to keep the graphics high and size small enough to fit on a single DVD9.

shabutie:
Chameleon was hardly a trademark in TES.

I will agree that spellcrafting was, but kudos to Bethsoft for seeing that Chameleon and Invisibility were nearly identical and removing the more OP one.  (Lets face it... Chameleon was horribly OP for those who understood how to use it)

I'm confused by what you mean by "No enchanting gear with whatever you want".  All you need to do is find an item with the enchantment already on it and you learn it forever.  Granted, it's not any spell you know, but it's still a helluva lot of them.

And removing statboosting / spellmaking / tweeking the enchant system is hardly an example of keeping it on a single DVD.  Bethsoft probably just figured they were unneeded and wanted to keep the game straight forward, character-wise.

froody1911:
I agree completely with shabutie.

Also about the Dark Brotherhood, it actually makes perfect sense why you're required to do that's kid's quest to get their attention. I bet you didn't actually play their quests yet, Havoc.

SeventyX7:
Of course he didn't...he was asking how to initiate the quest chain.   :o

Anyways, spellcrafting was another thing that broke the game in oblivion (just like chameleon).  I don't really miss having my 100% dmg reduc, 100% chameleon, and instant-kill-everyone-in-50-meters spell.  They ruined the game.
