Enchanting in TES meant putting nearly any spell on any wearable item, true there are many ways to enchant weapons and armor and trinkets but hunting for the items you still don't know is kind silly, and some items can't be disenchanted at all, also, there is difference between for instance having boots that let you boost your 2-hand skill, but you can't place the same enchant on armor, because it's feet-enchant, and not armor-type enchant. I think this was a little miscalculation on Bethesda part, since I understand sneaking being a typical feet-type enchant and not armor-type enchant, but why is magic resistance on boots also a feet-type enchant as well ?

Gloves enchants are also miscalculated in most cases, I found restoration gloves but also cant use that enchant on armor, while having ANOTHER restoration enchant for armor that can be placed on all pieces of armor... sense anyone ?

I'm pretty sure the patch should have solved this problem, question is, will Bethesda admit a mistake and fix it, or not.

I liked Spell making  designed in Oblivion, and if it had the same rules as in Morrowind (you couldn't just enchant anything you wanted onto a piece of equipment in Morrowind, there were limitations, but you could enchant every spell you knew onto gear in Oblivion as long as you knew the school high enough) as well as making new spells was limited in Morrowind as well as in Oblivion to level of school you have.

I agree that the Chameleon spell enchant could be very abused, I would definitely abuse it, but it could be limited to trinkets only with max 25%, since we can have only one ring and a necklace, why only one ring though ? should be 2 at least, they are so small O_O

The limitations Bethesda placed in this game are silly, at the very least you finally have Bows that you enchant are working with the arrows, instead of just having a fancy bow and needing enchanted arrows to do magic effect on enemies, although allowing to enchant arrows would simply solve the problem.

How ?
Spell to make currently equipped arrows element type enchanted, or any other stuff, oh well.

Lets wait and see what modders will bring us.

Custom spell system was prone to exploits, disintegrate armour on self so you train destruction and train your armourer skill at the same time, or custom drain 100 health over 1 second which was very cheap and very powerful insta kill spell at earlier levels.

My biggest problem are seriously unbalanced bosses. And I am talking about the kind of balancing like Deus Ex 3 where a boss was either impossible or so easy, it's not even funny. For example I am a mage through and through. Killing dragons is the easiest task for me, I am a bit more sceptical about melee only builds, since some dragons just keep circling you forever. Another good example is Morokei, which is a bloody pain to kill with any method except for melee bashing, since he stops using spells all together when you are at point blank range. Orchendor is another fucker who is immune to spells and is much harder to kill as a mage, than other classes.
For one thing, Tiff is not on any level what I would call a typical American.  She's not what I would consider a typical person.  I don't know any other genius geneticist anime-fan martial artist marksman model-level beauties, do you?

I like that smithing is so easy to level up, hate wow type leveling to find different materials and shit because its so damn annoying =p

Thing is you dont have to powerlevel it, dont really need smithing to finish the game (maybe on highest difficulty), I only leveled it with stuff I find and around lvl 75-80 and my char is like 33.

BTW how hard it is to get the Dark Brotherhood's attention ?

Ask innkeepers for rumors and they will tell you about a kid that wants to summon them, go talk to him to start it
Yea it kills the game when something is so easy to level up. I'd rather have something like WoW that forces you to go out and get the materials. I still don't fucking understand why they allow the shop keepers to have some of the rare materials. Did they not think at all that it would kill the enjoyment in this game?

And the Perk system is broken, too. I wonder who they hired to do all of these things ...

I'm playing it now for the storyline. I like the stories just about everything.

Wait, so if I kill something, and don't seal it's soul, and it revives... that makes it NOT immortal ?
my logic denies access...

Just to nitpick here, Froody did say that they CAN be resurrected, not that they WILL BE.

Random opinion: Leveling up too easy / gear being too easy to obtain just sucks imo.

...is this a bad game?  Do you all hate it?

For me this is my second favorite game of the year after Dark Souls, I fucking love it and have been playing it A LOT.  It fixes nearly every major problem I had with Oblivion.

Yet every single time I visit this thread there are 2-3 more complaints about the game...

On IRC I told froody this:
I found an Ebony Sword on a bandit when I was lvl 12, scaling is always broken, and should never be used because the mechanic can't be set properly at all, it should be :
-this area is easy
-this area is medium
-this area is hard
-this area will rape your ass on every step, even if you don't have it.

Older games benefited from this type of setting, and players could not benefit from easy enemies much (later on you wouldn't benefit at all)
This would make for great gameplay, but alas this was never Bathesda's intent on making games great, they only cared for the story and superb graphics, nothing wrong with that for most of the time, but it just feels like you can't get a good game at all these days, it either lacks gameplay or story.

As a game for consoles this is a must have I am sure, but since it was poorly ported from a console to the PC, a lot of rage and hate will ensue.

As a game in Overall, this is a good game, the story is interesting, and doesn't end in 2 hours (lol oblivion) and you definitely can't do it and finish on lvl 2 character (yes, again, LOL OBLIVION).

The Good:
-GFX
-SFX
-Dragon Slaying (big +)
-Long and interesting story
-Working Enchanted Bows
-Powers that are actually useful (Shouts)
-AI that is not stupid (Enemies will try to hide from your arrows, and will cast defensive spells if they have some)
-Dragons can KILL you
-Anything can kill you
-Alchemy is fixed (you no longer need to remember every damned recipe, you just need to know the ingredients effects and you will learn recipes automatically, and later on, if you have the correct ingredients the potion name will be white, which means you CAN make it)
-Proper crafting system, but has some cons.
-The Game storyline demands exploration from the player, at least to some degree.

The Bad:
-Crafting (enchanting/smithing) is far too easy.
-No Spellcrafting, they didn't have to remove that from the game, just put heavy restrictions on it.
-No Chameleon Spell (well at least player is not overpowered but still, I miss that spell :D)
-Enemy Scaling is bad and unbalanced, you can still get superior items from bandits.
-No Horseriding Combat (arrrg)
-Animals Rain (lol all you want, but you stop laughing when you get hit by a mammoth corps falling on you from the sky)

As you can see there are less cons than pros but that doesn't mean anything. This game could have easily been far better if bathesda didn't remove their trademark crafting (spellcrafting) and made things a little bit more complicated.
Then the game would have been superior.

BTW, did anyone get the trollol Shout ?
Every time you use it someone mocks you, pretty funny :D

I'm level 22 and have yet to get anything significant from Bandits...

They all seem to have Iron/Hide/Sometimes Steel items and die in 1 hit to my mighty dwarven bow.

Yeah, my new char is level 35 and I've yet to see anything beyond Orcish armor or Glass weapons.

I think you're just a lucky bastard, Havok.   ???

That being said, I totally agree about scaling.  I'd much prefer enemies were a specific strength, ALWAYS, so when you wander into some areas it may be super easy or you may get killed in one blow.  That type of gameplay is more realistic (even if it is less newbie-friendly).

That being said, if that were how it was, Skyrim would have to be fundamentally different.  As it is now, the idea is that you should be able to just explore the world.  If there was no scaling, it would have to be more linear, with easier areas connected to slightly harder which are connected to slightly harder ones, and so on.  You can't have very hard areas in between easy areas with no way around, that would just be silly.

You all are hanging around the wrong areas. If you keep following those "quest lines" you wont' see anything amazing. Try Winterhold College quests for mage casters. The best mage gear is there if you become an Arch-Mage. You can also get the best light armor for an archer if you do the quests for the girl who got smashed to pieces in Falkreach. Most of the high-end dungeons seem to be around the edges or near the edges of the map. I'm also getting sick of seeing my Daedric armor all the time.

Fucking Bethesda and their shitty perks and stats on gear.

Only quests I've followed was the Thieves guild.  Still haven't seen anything Daedric.  (Level 27 now?)

Granted, I pretty much run from one place to the next and haven't gone around the outside of the map much, pretty much just been exploring everything in between main cities and such.  (Pretty much playing the game without fast travel and hitting the stops along the way)

Took a half day off from playing Skyrim. Felt good. The game is boring now. Sigh.

Edit -- Been playing it like crazy now. I've max'd out Enchanting, Two-Hander, Heavy Armor and Smithing. I am not sure what to go for next. Maybe pickpocketing? (It's around 35, I've started pick pocketing more since yesterday). Maybe I should become a Death Knight that raises skeletons? Or work more on my Destruction? I also don't know if I should keep investing in Health. I've done my double enchants on my two hander and one hander.

She's incredibly powerful and I've been fighting everything on Master difficulty since yesterday. I've also upgraded my armor to the highest possible with Smithing enchants and a 30% increase in smithing for X seconds. The game is pretty fun when your decked out and the enemies are going all out on you. My health does drop on some enemies, and the toughest so far are the Dragons or/and high level mages (Arch, Master, Named enemies, etc). I haven't fought the other masked Priests to see how tough they are. Ah, those Draught Lords are annoying and do hurt.

I'm level 47 at the moment and I'm planning to level very fast by leveling Alchemy, Pickpocketing and whatever else I missed pretty quickly. What perks should I go for now? Should I also invest in Mana? My Stamina is pretty damn good so I don't need to invest in there anymore. I also have enchanted (back up) rings to carry more weight if needed.

Probably someone trolling. Anyone should be able to create a petition on that site, so it's not actually anything really official. If it gets 25,000 signatures then the government might look at it, but other than that... it's nothing.

I do like the names of some of the signatories though. Indaryn I, Dagoth U, Divayth F, Crassius C. Brings back memories :D
