It's just... maces have the absolute highest 1 handed damage in the game. So two maces hitting fast as hell... it's the most overpowered.

The percentage modifiers make it so insane with the higher base damage...

A mace is slower than a sword, so DPS is about the same.

Ancient dragon hitting Dawnstar, never had this much fun from death and destruction :D

Have to say, ground combat for dragons (or at least not flying) looks quite awesome when you just observe it, 5 or 6 guards got eaten and some not important NPCs, the sight was quite awesome seeing the fire breath on villagers bandits (they were around) and everything else flaming :)

Disintegration actually works too, my thunderbolts ripped through that dragon like butter :)

It was almost like watching that movie Dragon Breath :)

Have to lure dragons to villages and forts more often :D

what makes me really mad in this game is the stupidity of the horses. i believe by now i've lost 3-4 horses because those dumbshits either attacked a dragon and died horribly or just ran away chasing a critter i aggroed somewhere never to be found.

that and the loading times (which seem to become longer and longer with the hour). fast-traveling from Windhelm to Markath took me 15minutes once - would've probably been faster by foot...

WOW

Yeah horses are stupid, which is why I don't use em at all, I mean, what good are they since you can't fight on them :P

And second, lol'd, my longest load time in this game is ... 20 seconds.

Not with 3 part Elemental Fury.... try it. Hold LMB+RMB... like 5 attacks are near instant.

You might as well type 'kill' or 'tgm' and then shout "look guys! I am awesome!" :P
(lol. I'm just kidding)

Anyways, I just made my first op weapons (2 daedric bows), just to see how it goes, and after a few 'quickie' dragon battles: one appeared at honeymead brewery and another near markath (Which I killed with a few headshots from the sky). I decided to give it away to my follower and dead thrall ('coz I like it when she keeps moaning and saying weird stuff).. The annoying thing is that no message appears when my thrall dies, so I have to backtrack a few times so I could revive her again. (I can't wait until I can summon 2 thralls)

Now I'm thinking of getting my companions some op gears (but maybe not daedric, 'coz it doesn't look sexy on chicks) and then I'm gonna get back on the civil war quest lines and conquer the universe.

Btw, did you guys join Imperial or Stormcloaks?

Stormcloaks first then cause I hated how the storyline went, the Imperials. But overall... neither are a great choice. I just didn't like screwing certain Jarls over that I was Thane of their cities and supposedly loyal to them and whatnot... seemed so dirty.

I think Ebony looks good. Ebony and a uh... a Helm of Yngol, but you gotta replace the mesh on an Orcish helmet or something to hide the hair since there's really bad hair clipping with the Yngol.

Yeah, the choice between Empire and stormcloaks is not about "good and evil".

Imperials tried to chop of your head in the beginning of the game, therefore joining stormcloaks seems like the only logical thing to do. Also personal political viewpoints can help to choose the side. For me personally sovereignty of people is important and having elves shoving their religion down the throats of the Nords made the choice of stormcloaks simpler.

Not to mention that if you do a fine job as a Dark Brotherhood assassin, then Empire will become even more weakened and nothing more than luggage for Skyrim (and other provinces)

In either case next game will reveal how the storyline will continue. After all Skyrim did a good job to reference to the fact that the Empire started dying after Martin Septim died in Oblivion. Also, return of the Psijics? Hell, the political demographics in the next game will surelly be interesting. I hope for Elsewyr personally.

Yea, I was thinking about that too. But maybe since the dragonborn bloodline of emperors was broken, you now have a legitimate claim to the throne. Maybe you can even rally the empire to drive back the Thalmor and get some payback from the Great War. So I was mostly thinking in what path I should take to get to that..

Getting Skyrim with the stormcloaks can help give you an army to back your claim to the throne at the expense of making the empire weaker than it already is. But maybe the devs wanted this to mirror the collapse of the Roman Empire, with Skyrim acting as the barbarian horde. Either way the Thalmor seems to be the greatest threat at the moment, but maybe the Psijics will act like deus ex machina and just buzz right in out of the blue.

Now some news on the technical issues.

Those who bought the game for PS3 are suckers. Not in the sense of "idiots", but in a sense "got screwed over".

Both consoles and PC have the problem that savegames become bigger and bigger the more you manipulate the world. PS3 is the first one to break because of memory limitations, Xbox has poor performance after a while as well. PCs can overcome this problem by simply having over the top specs, but even though my PC should handle this really well, I can see how my games gets slower the more I play.

This is not a bug and it is not console's fault. It is the flawed Creation Gamebryo engine that has always had this problems. It was just not as noticeable with Morrowind and to some extent Oblivion, because it didn't have so meny entities in the game.

Basically: Bethesda, dump you shitty Gamebryo engine and make one from scratch which is less retarded!

I was gonna go mage for this game but my friend is playing one, so I wanted to do something different. Figure i'll go pretty much pure warrior. Felt like making a character modeled after Kenpachi from Bleach.

QUick opinion question from you guys: High elf or Nord? Nord makes more sense, but i checked and the High elfs are noticeably taller than Nords. Plus theyre the only race with a spikey hair style. Unfortunately the Nords do not have one =( I was also wondering What you guys think for the Weight slider. I was thinking about it and Kenpachi is tall and cut but hes not really super buff like cranking the weight bar makes you. Should i leave it in the middle? A notch to the right or so? Several notches to the left? Its kinda a pain checking the weight bar with your shirt off since it takes like 10-15 minutes to get to the point where you can take your shirt off and pull the camera back.

Im leaning to the High elf just for the looks, but like i said im concerned i may get gimped since i dont plan on using many spells. Anyone whos put some hours in that can give me your opinion? I will only be upping alteration a bit for ironskin and the like. Possibly a bit of illusion for paralyse and fear spells. I'll be going either 1h or 2h havent decided yet.

Are you on PC? As far as sexy goes, this is about as hot as they get: http://skyrimnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=2517

Well, unless you count nude mods.

There's some other various things people like to reskin like the robe the daedra Nocturnal wears...

If you're the assassin sort: http://skyrimnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=724

Elves look like ass in this game. Wonky eyes.

There are several katanas in-game though. One from the blades, one a daedric artifact called the Ebony Blade (which sucks for a 2h main), and an ebony greatsword... which personally, I reskinned to the ebony blade mesh.

actually I was playing with it and you can get the eyes to look normal with some tweaking. THe only thing that sucks is that you can only make them pure yellow or red (or blind)

Are the katanas 1h or 2h? Also any answer to my question on a HE =ing fail for a warrior?

Wish i was on the PC, but im playing on the 360. MY pc wouldn't run the game. I remember i did a lot of custom races and skins back in the Morrowind days. I made a werewolf race that was really popular on the community forums back before they actually did the expansion

blades one is 1h, ebony greatsword is 2h, ebony sword is 1h (not much like a katana though), ebony blade is sucky and 2h but uses 1h attributes for some reason and has really low damage for a greatsword.

Doesn't matter what you start as. Just gives you a small boost to start out, but eventually it won't matter at all. High Elf is better for a mage since they have a magicka recharge Power and are gifted in the magic stuff.

Best for a warrior would be Orc (they have a really OP power), Redguard, Nord or Imperial... khajit for unarmed combat (you have to max heavy armor, get the pugilist gloves and disenchant them and enchant buffed daedric gauntlets with the +damage enchant, and you should do okay).

In the end, just pick what you think looks best. Nothing else will really matter.

You can be a werewolf. ;)

Elves of any kind are hated in Skyrim. Go Nord, be the native, and get 50% frost resist :)

Yeah. The Nords are kinda neo-nazi. They tend to hate all non-nords. They won't even allow khajit in their cities.

Yup, I'm on the PC.

The leopard re-texture for the forsworn armor looks nice. I might actually try doing my own reskins after I finish the game, if it's not too much hassle. Maybe I'll reskin the Nightingale Armor and make it look like Assassin's Creed armor.. lol..
