The group WhyNot? Fansubs has ripped the Blu-ray of the OVA Kowarekake no Orgel. They want it to be offered here, together with the special.

Furthermore have a look at these comparisons:
DVD vs. Blu-ray part 1 (notice the differences)
DVD vs. Blu-ray part 2 (just some random shots)

And?... The 480p DVD does not compete with the 720p or 1080p spots so we would accept them most likely without the comparison to the DVD version.

What I want to see is an comparison between the 720p and 1080p for possible upscaling and a comparison of WhyNot's and DGz 720p version.

Note: Not all of these are for encoding comparisons, as the screenshots with subtitles were taken with MPC, and have the possibility of being rendered differently than the other screenshots.

(click to show/hide)My bias opinion: Video quality seems fairly similar, but WhyNot didn't crop (and DGz is about 100mb smaller). WhyNot has less typesetting done than DGz, but is softsubbed compared to DGz' hardsubbed AFX. Both DGz and WhyNot used Clover as a base translation for the main episode, but IMO, WhyNot didn't fix all the problems with the original script. I'm not a fan of WhyNot's subtitle styling either.

Sorry. You mentioned comparisons and I was wondering why we needed them but none the less more informative than many requests. Next time may wish to add a link to AniDB for easier yet again but still good.

Thank you for the quick comparison screenshots. Will nitpick them when my head isn't killing me. >_<
