I hate when the writers twist a plot of a series to make what THEY want happen, instead of what is obviously a happier choice for the characters...that kind of twist is not only dumb but smacks of Deus Ex machina hand of god and to heck with the viewer. They ..the writers...also often pick the ugly or weird girl instead of the good looking one, i have come to believe that in general anime writers hate good looking women and only use them as overt or covert fan service..and force the others on us in spite.

One of the worst examples of this was the way they the writers treated Haro in Zam'd Lost Memories. they also forced us to accept the predictable pairing in Last Exile after there was a short fling with the future Empress. That was a fun twist but they turned away from it almost at once.

I also hate plot changes where they bring in super strong bad guys who are unexplainably invincible...as in Gundam 00 with the super beings who magically got control of the master computer and just take over ....at least they fall in the end but it is lame.

It seems like no matter what anime I watch, there's always something where a panty flashes out of nowhere.
Even in the "innocent" animes.
And the obsession with big boobs make me feel awkward. T_T *sigh*

In Peach Girl,
I hate how Momo wouldn't stop falling in love with both guys. The anime was about a love triangle, but come on! In almost every episode she changed her mind and would fall in love with another one. Then Kairi went and kissed her, then her boyfriend was like, "Is it true?" and she's like, "Yes, it's true! I kissed him! I'm so sorry!"
Uh, yeah hun. The guy kissed YOU, he forced a kiss. Wasn't your fault... Say that instead >.>
And she cried in like, every episode as well >:|
Got kinda annoying after awhile.

Really? I was too busy stabbing a knife at Sai, arc 2 made me weep, that was almost the birth of satan.

Everytime you think she turned good, she really wasn't... Except for the last time lol
I didn't like Sai, but she became my favorite character at the end

He didn't pick the 'wrong' one, he chose something real over something that may have been a couple of years earlier.
Love stronger than time ?
Get real people, that's not how it works.

Besides, even without the events of the series his pick is still the best one. Both choices are unfair to a certain degree, in that sense they're both wrong.

In that show there is no wrong choice, it all depended on which route to take, sadly, all anime's generally follow the #2 rule, while we know the other girl was a nicer choice, in overall, he chosen the girl he was more comfortable with.

If you are wondering, #2 rule of anime, first girl introduced gets the boy. A lot of shows are actually following this rule.

I was more thinking of Shuffle. That was a bad choice to take.

That's the kinda situation I hate, when everything's already set from the start.

No tension, no incertainty, just people messing around, not taking action. All for the purpose of stretching out a minimal amount of material way too much.

I don't like it when stories take the most obvious path, especially when it's blatantly done to appeal.

sry. Wrong choise of words in my end... And as I said, Kimi ga Nozomu Eien IS one of my favourite animes ever JUST BECAUSE the choise he made.Though, I liked Haruka more.

It really jars me when the characters spout stupid cliches and catch phrases, or give their attacks "names" while doing them.
But I guess it might be a cultural/genre thing.

Lots of others I agree with too.. Excessive nose bleeds, gratuitous fan service where it -doesn't- belong, revealing your plans to the enemy or explaining the situation 50 times to the viewer like it's an episode of Passions (to its credit it was meant to poke fun at soaps, by using all the cliches).

I mean, clearly I'm not going to watch a Shōnen series if I am expecting some half-serious drama or remotely intelligent narration, but still...

Not quite sure I follow you on this one... Could you give a little more detail? I found the character development to pretty consistent.

My point about the "wrong choice" in romance is not just wanting Happy endings, tho I do enjoy them...\

it is because in some series the writers use and exploit our affections to get impact.and i dont like be manipulated like that.... if some girl or guy is nice and likes the other ...and they have a nice relation, I just hate the writers forcing in someone else to shake it up and make us and the characters nervous and uncertain...and to create discord..a classic example is that simply awful squeaky and ugly Submarine Captain in Full Metal Panic, she is nowhere near as interesting and fun and attractive as Kaname, yet that shrimp of a captain is forced into the story and it is implied that she is attractive and seductive yet she is such a fool and so obviously artifically placed in that role... Gurren Lagen is another example when the most obvious and happy outcome would be for

there are many other examples of such forced triangles ..and i have come after painful experiences to basically NOT trust anime writers to ever dependably give us a happy outcome in romance, even when such outcomes would be so easy to do..

I will however remain very cautious in this area..and consider the paradoxes like this that are forced to be one of the main weaknesses of some of even the best series.

Story doesn't follow along. Story is very critical (with everything else). The story in anime should follow suit from episode to episode or/and create a build-up or between characters and changing their behaviors.
