Kaze No Stigma had a good strong male lead and so did Shura No Toki
I hate that type of character, they're overpowered to the point everything gets irrelevant. At least Cassherns invincibility made sense, as it's more a curse than a blessing.
AS for me; The oblicatory swimsuit episode with no relevant plot or connection to anything but fan service.
Onsen episodes with breast groping and pathetically unfunny attempts at peeping are even worse.
I'd add :
- antagonists with a god complex believing themselves to be the second coming of Christ
- antagonists bent on destroying the world/killing everyone because the world isn't a nice place
- antagonists with a grudge bent on destroying the world/killing everyone because someone in the past has been mean to them.
- gratuitious gore and sex in order to appear 'mature'
- the unbreakable power of childhood friendship and kindergarten love in romantic relationships
- fights instead of plot
- Gundam dichotomy : war is bad, warriors are badass
- redundant plot twists
- offscreen narration
and many more.
