[E-D] He is my Master (sort of)

(1/1)

So, we have the Polished release on BBT. Aside from being from an XviD raw, it suffers from uncropped black bars on the sides, and a number of typos and other subbing glitches. I obtained the better h264 raws alluded to in the comments, and several months ago I rewatched the show and fixed all the typos and some TL/editing errors I could find.

 Now, there's an R1DVD-rip available from Exiled-Destiny, which is not dual-audio because no English dub was produced. But of course, any offer of the actual E-D encodes would result in flamewars about literal vs. liberal, localization, plain .srt (or vobsub lol) vs. typeset .ass, R2 pre-encoded raw vs. R1 (6 eps per disc) video quality, and whether (mostly) accurate & error-free pro subs offset the loss of fansubs with some typos.

Therefore, I'd like to do a hybrid release with the R2 raws, including the Ayu-r0ri/Polished subs (default) and the R1 subs (secondary), likely with the fansub typesetting imported in. At some point I'd also use the R1 subs to TLC Ayu's a bit, and correct any technical errors in the R1 subs. But I'd rather not actually go on IRC and DL E-D's encodes if I can avoid it, since I don't really plan on watching them.

So what this thread boils down to is: can anyone who's DLed E-D's release extract the subs (.srt only or .srt+vobsub) and post them somewhere for me?

Enzedder:
People can cry me a river about literal vs liberal. Are their any problems with E-D R1 subs? What are the main differences between the current subs up and the proposed E-D subs?

I see no reason to play around with a release just because people are whiny. If they whine enough or if staff agree that the R1 subs are not as good as they should be then we have a Group D open for such occasions.

Zalis116:
 I can't accurately judge the R1 subs sight unseen, but there is this:

--- Quote ---Section 23's release of [He is my Master] carries no English dub and seems unable to completely escape the typos and grammatical errors which plagued Sentai Filmworks subs in other titles earlier this year.
--- End quote ---

But knowing other Sentai/Section23/ADV subs, we can reasonably expect:

* no honorifics
* Western name order
* "Onee-chan" and the like changed to "Sis"
* Maybe a few TL notes. Generally localized, though not to the "yen = dollars, riceballs = doughnuts" level.

Those aren't inherently bad things imo, but obviously opinions will vary. That's why I want to give people the best of both worlds in one package: professional/localized subs with unprofessional errors fixed, and fansubs with TL errors and typos fixed. More options + fewer torrents = more efficiency for seeders and the site overall.

@Zalis: Has anybody ever told you you're awesome?  ;D

Edit: Zalis if you are planning on doing thois project I for one would be interested and grateful.
