CDA to FLAC converter
Stargazemg:
I am looking for an audio file converter that will allow me to rip directly to FLAC format. I've got several ways to get mp3, but FLAC seems to elude me. Anyone got a suggestion that is safe? Most sites on my search online get warnings from Windows about suspicious sites and viruses. Any help would be great because I have an audio disc that is not yet available here at BBT and I would like to share it with the community. Thanks in advance ;D. Please send a message if possible. 1/15/2011 Thanks to all who responded. Upon further investigation on my part, I found out my copy of Nero 9 allows me to rip to WAVE which is also lossless. Then I can convert WAVE to FLAC.

Exact Audio Copy (EAC) is a popular solution for Windows, but really, almost any cd-ripping application will do flac.

I use FreeRip. Most of the warnings you get are likely false alarms - most programs you can find on Google (at least the first page) are clean, which makes sense because they are the most commonly visited sites that match your search criteria.

As is often the case when it comes to audio
Foobar2000 got what you need =)
(as long as you have the flac.exe downloaded)
Southrop:
EAC is the most common application that people use. Most, if not all, Japanese music CDs that are available on Share and Perfect Dark are ripped with EAC.
