NFS Shift vs Forza vs Gran Turismo
« on: January 20, 2011, 03:46:31 AM »
Hey all!  :D

I have just seen the gamespot reviews for the latest games in these franchises. I must say that while I own forza 3, NFS Shift sure looks very very enticing due to its simulation of crashes and how a driver's view changes with the things happening around in the game. Sure, Shift does not have that many cars or tracks as forza, and its controls kinda suck but I think they are going to improve that with Shift 2.

As for GT 5, well, I must say that it has been a disappointment. Even though I do not own a PS3, judging by what I have seen on various review sites, it seems to have failed the expectations garnered over its uber long development period (5 years!)

SO, what do you guys/gals think?

I have all 3 of those games and personally I think that Forza 2 was better than them all. Everyone says that Shift is realistic but I don't think it is. Why would a car start to slide at like 50km even when turning lightly? Just doesn't seem right.

I like how GT5 has heaps of cars but I don't like how it takes ages to get money.

Forza is pretty good but GT takes the spot with all the cars and customisation.
I have personal biases against NFS. I've heard shift is actually driveable but that's what they said about pro street too and that was an utter load of crap...

So maybe GT5 both Forza and GT are good arcades so I'd take the one with more possibilities.

Because we can!

Personally I have high hopes for Shift 2. I like the presentation, but if the controls suck (as they do now) I am sticking to forza.

My brother gets tons of money pretty quick in the beginning. I forgot what he does but your obviously don't something wrong. Try and do one of the big events that's not in B-Spec mode.
