Final Fantasy XIII-2

Havoc10K:
make it 1-7 with updated GFX and I buy them all.

Khundes:
7's not coming back any soon aside from PSN port for a while, because unlike FF's 1-6, they actually need to spend effort to update the GFX in it. And SE don't have money to spend on effort right now I'd bet.

tomoya-kun:
I quite liked FF-14, I loved the story.  It's good if you treat it as its own game.

HiddenJumper:
Just for reference, Nobuo Uematsu technically didn't leave Enix until after Final Fantasy X (though some argue saying he left after FF9 since Uematsu didn't compose all of FFX's music himself, since he brought on extra help for composing of FFX's music). That was back in 2001. So from FFXI onwards was other composers, yet Uematsu still has done some freelance work for Square Enix, he isn't officially apart of the company.

As far as FFXIII-2 goes, I'm having a really hard time getting through FFXIII cause the gameplay is so boring. I mean the story isn't bad, but its not great either (definitely not up to what I expect of Square Enix), but the gameplay is really what drags 13 through the mud. The fact that they're trying to release a sequel to 13 brings bad omens I think. However I think this is the risk that Square needs to take. Sure FFIV flunked big time and we all hoped Squeenix has learned from it, but what will be the true test to determine if the FF series has died and will save Squeenix's rep is if the next FF game they make is a big hit. I'm just questioning, why does it have to be FFXIII? There's so many FF games that potentially could use a sequel and yet they choose one that wasn't exactly the most well recieved game of their collection. Besides why does it even have to be an FF game?

Lets take the 3rd Birthday for example, much needed sequel to PE series, despite the problem of it being on the PSP. I could name several other franchises that Square has that could easily fill in and make their money back that doesn't have to be an FF game.

Ezzendaz:
One of the few problems I'm currently having with the final fantasy series, is the character, I think the character haven't been able to impress me lately, for example Vaan from FF12, he's done nothing to show that he is the lead main protagonist... and Lightning from ff13 is also well she is okay I'd say but still didn't leave quite the big impression a lead main protagonist should be leaving... so I think that is what that is causing the ff series to be quite normal lately I mean they've deliver nothing special to fans except for interesting story and plots...

The second is the clothing, I think there have been less and less clothing the main characters are wearing.... you can see ff-x and onwards... I felt that as time goes by the character clothes does not portray the kind of clothing a main characters should be wearing... I mean its like they're selling fanservice ya know...? ain't cool... look at Vaan(I dont hate him...)

As a conclusion I hope they don't mess up with this...  I mean the FFXIII-2, they should bring back the feeling we all fans received from the ff series b4 like ff7 ff8 and such... I dont mind the gameplay, but I do feel that SquareEnix is losing its touch to the beautiful FF series... well I hope they'll do something to bring back all the awesomeness the FF series were able to give... :)
