OK I am almost ready to buy the PS3, gonna buy it in a few months, defo playing the XIII and sequel as soon as it shows up :)

I'm a general fan of FF series, i don't look for flaws, I just try to enjoy as much as possible, cuz that is the way to enjoy games.
Time to blaspheme a bit, The only FF games I did not enjoy as much were FFIX and FFX, I played FFIX cus it started out very nicely, and the story was very fun, but PSX is very limited and the pixelosis was so damn cancer, FF7 had a lot of it too but there was a lot more going on on the screen to fix the cancer, FF8 was much nicer.

As for FFX, it was far too linear, and frankly it was far too predictive, best elements of the game were Eidolons and Riku, damn that girl was insane on the battlefield, so much better in FFX-2 though, she was a real hottie and her job was much better there, FFX had a good story but since it was so linear it wasn't very deep, not too many side quests and yes I did them all, the growth system wasn't very interesting,

I suppose the sphere system was nice enough, and after a while you could make rikku cast black magic and such, and give all characters the ultimate power of kickass, far too convenient and eventually you land with too many commands to hold out,

which made FFX-2 so much better in that respect, limiting commands to Job Sphere, and limiting jobs per dresssphere, Brilliant solution for overpowering, power menaged simply by stats and not gear, although accessories were quite useful sometimes :)

If they can make the FFXIII-2 much better than what the original is, Kudos, since the battle system is boring I think they will change the battle system. Hopefully for the better this time.

The FF game I've enjoyed the most is FFX. I cheated heavily since I found the combat boring. But I found the cut scenes and over all atmosphere engaging. It still has the best cut scene of any game I have played. And it is old...

I have a hard time over all liking the FF games since their combat is boring and if you don't know everything about the game you tend to need to be over levelled when you reach things in the game. That or load and redo it until you know how it works. I always go the over levelled route in all RPG games. :p

the only problem in FF6 (3) I had was final battle with Kefka, over leveling is normal, I can't imagine not being around FF7 Corel Prison desert area and not being already a lvl 50 :D takes a lot of farming, but I had a lot of fun maiming the mobs :D

at some point I was just standing there with hopes of finally getting to limit break, and the pwning enemies in one shot, the Idea of Limit Breaks was probably the best element in the games thus far, but sometimes it's far too easy to get in FFX, which was one of the elements that made the game boring easy to me.

still, i will play any FF game that will come out, current score is
FF6- 4 times completed
FF7- 14 times completed
FF8 - 10 times over
FF9- 3 times (once in 12 hour walk)
FFX - 2 times
FFX-2 - 4 times
FFXI - played out the first basic version, didn't do the expansions
FFXII- 5 times, it's great, say what you want, Penello and Ashe are a win :D

OMG ILY Lightning!
I've been stuck on the last boss about 3 times, I always replay the game at that point so basically I've just skipped the last boss and replayed FF13 3 times.
I'll have another go, ILY LIGHTNING & VANILLE! <3

I really love FF13 the most out of all Final Fantasies!
Definitely getting XIII-2!

Anyone notice that MASSIVE difficulty spike right when you get to do a little open world free-roaming?

Well,Justto state myown opinion; VI, VII & XII are my favourites. currently plsying XIII, well, the story is good, but, it is just the story, there is too many sinematics... and about Nobuo, Well at least he got thanks on the XII, I watched the whole credits.

I can't get the idea of XIII-2... I would prefer XII-2... but well, might still buy XIII-2...

Bosses are so easy.

Team is usually Lightning, Hope, Vanille

First go 1x commando 2x medic, after you hit it a couple times, switch to triple ravenger to raise the bar like crazy.

When the boss starts it's powerful move, switch back to triple medic.  Afterwards, go back to triple ravanger.

Easy stuff.

You should try playing without any tank characters, it makes the game a lot more challenging and it makes you pay very close attention to characters' hp.

I initially used Lightning (primary ravenger), Vanille (primary medic), and Fang (primary commando), but found that without buffs, I was dying faster than I could heal, so I switched up my strategy.

My setup then became Fang (commando, sabateur, party leader), Sazh (synergist/ravanger), and Vanille (sabateur, medic, ravanger). With this setup, the game became 20 times easier and I beat all the bosses (including the final) in half the target time (so a 10 minute target time, I would beat it in 5 mins).

Difficulty spikes were extremely noticeable and with my original setup, I ended up doing several hours of grinding. Primary starting paradigm was sabateur, synergist, medic. Buff up then unleash the commando, ravanger, ravanger/medic paradigms.

Overall, the game's story wasn't that entertaining for me. The gameplay was below average and the music was mediocre (except for the Chocobo Theme, I liked that one). Graphics was the only good part of this game that really stood out, but graphics don't make good games.

well, graphics make games nice, not good, ever since they focused on visuals that was their only purpose in life

The worst thing about FF nowadays is the lack of immersion through exploration. XIII was literally hold the up button and then hit x. There is no real game play to it, and no real exploration. IX and back were fun because you got to explore the world and discover things, breed choco's, play in eh golden saucer, discover optional characters, find those rare draw points, and now there is none of that. Now it is just some stupid game that you don't even have to try to play with a bad story tacked on.

I agree that it seems like they spend all their time on graphics, and forget everything else.

^I agree with you. I like taking a break or short side trek from the main story to explore towns, areas, etc and have interesting twists with it. I feel FFXIII didn't come through on this even though I'm sure they knew that. Like who wants to go and do "hunts" after you've beaten the game? Maybe if they were interesting but it's just deterring once you've beat the game Then to have all the side quests and such.

On a side note I liked the hunts and towns in XII even though people hate on that game  :P.

I enjoyed the Hunts in FFXII, but the lack of a true, fly-it-yourself airship made exploration seem almost non-existent for me. That's one of the main reasons why I loved the earlier FFs, is because with the airship I control, I can explore the world they made on my own time.
