Duke Nukem Forever
« on: January 22, 2011, 09:37:33 PM »
So finally, after all those years... a real release date, May 3 2011
THE KING RETURNS!!!

I hope...

So what do you think? Will it suck, will it be awesome, will it be at least good? I'm expecting a good game. Better than the CoD-like crap games that has been coming for a while now. Maybe it won't detach our retinas from awesome graphics (I personally don't give a damn about graphics in games anyway) but I have a good feeling about this game.

And in the meantime we can listen to this

Fuck that shit. If it takes decades to make a seemingly mediocre game, then it is not interesting any more.

I say Serious Sam took the throne from Duke Nukem a long time ago.
For one thing, Tiff is not on any level what I would call a typical American.  She's not what I would consider a typical person.  I don't know any other genius geneticist anime-fan martial artist marksman model-level beauties, do you?

It doesn't look even that good. If it were 8years, 10years then it would be Mega-Hit, but after games like Crisis, Black Ops and others FPP DNF look like old game, and the thing that there is Duke Nuke there aint making it the best game. It will be big disappointment for all people - but still I gona play it to see if the lack of gfx will be make up buy great story/humor

I saw the trailer, and loved it. I'm not a DN fan, but the game sure looks bad ass. I might give it a go when it comes out.

Duke Nukem was not the best thing about whacking aliens and stepping on them or their shit, it was the sarcasm, comedy and all the fucking stupid things about it that was so great, I so hope the game will not be censored at all, the VA seems to be the same, and it makes me happy, and yeah, after 12 fucking years, it should be !

I so lolled at the titty alien bitch and him saying:
"Damn ... I'd still hit her!"

romantic eh ?

at this point in time, we can't really talk about superb visuals as most games run 3 graphic engines that are on the lead, Aliens don't look very awesome, but were supposed to kill them, the girls look great, that is important, I hope Duke has a ton of dollars for dancers :D

I'm gonan buy, play it 50 times, and then complain, that it's over :P

Is it just me, or is the voice really annoying because it sounds exceptionally monotone, semi sarcastic?

Yes, the sarcasm and the humor was the fun stuff, but this trailer seems almost retarded. This game may actually be only a good arcade game at best.

they guy made millions voicing a silly badass blonde pervert, he ought to have a drunken voice most of the time, I loved the old voice so damn much, partly because it was 8 bit to 16 bit, the guy giving voice to Solus (ME2) as far as sarcasm goes, would fit, if he can be more manly, I can bite it :)

IMDB claims it's the same guy. The intonation is also extremely similar, if he sounds differently it's probably because, well, you know, it's been 12 years. Also higher bitrates and less scratchiness.

im not saying its a different guy it just doesnt sound the same and the different sounding voice i think will be one of the huge negatives for many duke fans. Cuz its just OFF by a little and its enough to drive me personally crazy.

YMMV I guess, I wasn't bothered. Besides, if enough fans feel strongly about it I suppose there will fairly quickly be mods that replace the new sound files with the old ones.

Whether or not the graphics is outdated is not that interesting. Just by having Duke Nukem as a protagonist, this game is potential EPIC WIN. Also, no more "vaporware" jokes about DN:F from now on...

It's so exciting to see a new Duke Nukem game but after all these years I don't know if it will work a second time....  when I was 14 and the first Nukem 3d game was new I loved it so much but I'm not sure if the appeal will be there any more...
hoping for the best with this one
