As long as the gameplay is fun, I'll be onboard with DNF, regardless of the graphics or sound. I remember the multiplayer days of DN3D well... planting laser trip mines inside panels or teleporters, pipe bombs, jet packs, shooting rockets through teleporters, holodukes, squishing people, etc etc. A couple of funny moments from multiplayer in '95 or '96 come to mind:
I remember my friend & I were chasing each other around, and kept jumping in and out of one particular elevator, dropping holodukes on occasion to try to fake each other out. So it'd go something like, I'm standing waiting for the elevator, he would send it down empty. I'd jump in, drop a holoduke, send the lift up, wait, then hear explosions as he shoots at it, then turn off my holoduke. Elevator comes down, now it's got my friend's holoduke in it; I shoot it once, figure out what it is, send the elevator back up. Elevator comes down again empty, I drop my holoduke in there, send it back up. Elevator comes back down again, now it's got 2 holodukes; send it back up, comes back down again with 2 holodukes + my friend... one rocket later, he's dead, and we're both laughing at the sheer silliness of the duel.
My other favorite moment was when I dropped a holoduke at the exact moment he hit me with the shrink ray. He freaked, thinking I was somehow invincible or cheating, and stood there shooting at the hologram. Meanwhile, I ran off, regained normal size, then ran back and shot him in the back.
