...how could you even believe that? that's like saying that mass effect 3 will be only distributed on steam, nothin against steam myself, but duke nukem forever is a MAJOR title, you'll be able to get it anywhere

oh look, after 5 seconds of searching I found a hard copy you could find, and it's probably gonna be translated into every major language (or has been already) if you're foreign and thats what you're meaning

Great! So you can buy a disc! It still requires you to register for Steam and activate the game there. You're tied to a network you have no control over. A network that censors games in my country and makes it impossible to play with people who live abroad. A network that won't allow me to register a copy I ordered from abroad to avoid the censorship. FUCK Steam.

Although i dislike any sort of internet related Copyright Protection cuz I believe it just makes it so much easier to crack, of all of those I think Windows Live is the best option, I have no problems playing many games like Warhammer 40k+CR with even guys from Philippines, and sometimes playing such games with some people that are complete nuts is so much fun, speaking of nuts, my DK Tanking is like Natsu Fighting lol
Rush in, whoopass, heal what healers couldn't heal in time with bandages :D
My Guildies love playing with my tank cuz at least it's fast and fun, not always safe heheh :D
I always remind them they should be thankful I don't have a warrior tank ... yet XD
If they think Steam will satisfy them with DNF, I can expect a crack early after release.

I thought only Valve games bought on disc requires you to register on Steam. Other games just have such option. Well, I don't really use Steam or even buy recent games on PC so I don't really know how it is now.

pretty sure MW2 wouldnt let me not use steam and i bought the disk

Why not just get a crack? You bought the game legally anyways.
