720 Thora: Video 23.976 fps, x264, ~3000 kbps, Audio Japanese AC3 2.0 384 kbps, 1.32gb
720 Doki: Video H264, 1670kbps, Audio Japanese 2.0 Stereo - AAC - 194kbps, 702.75 MB
1080 Thora: Video 23.976 fps, x264, ~8000 kbps, Audio Japanese flac 2.0 24bit, 3.49gb
1080 Doki: Videio H264, 3000kbps, Audio Japanese 2.0 - AC3 - 448kbps, 1.27gb

as we can see the Thora versions are in nearly all points vastly superior to doki and are only a little bit bigger in size than dokis.

That, my friend, is not a comparison (or at least not entirely). I will make the comparison in a while, I am in the middle of "work", meanwhile I will put Thora's versions to download. Comparisons to come tonight.

Am I reading this correctly?

THORA's filesizes are ummm... nearly double (720p) and nearly three times the size (1080p) of Doki's!

I don't this is merely a little bit bigger...

in times when you download 20gb of blu-ray rips in less than one heures this is really just a little bit

it's not like you would have to restart the download entirely new when you log off or something like this, and as prizes for per gb under one dollars no one should be frightened by 4gb

that's not even a "little bit", it's just laughable

even with 56kb per second you need only roughly 17hrs for 3,5gb, that's something everyone should be able to bear with if he has higher qualitys in audio and video

No Shalas. When something is double the size, you take notice. And you didn't even say why it's "superior". Screenshots? Sub comparisons? Nothing. You just posted some stats.

Black Rock Shooter [BDRip 1080p x264 FLAC] - tp7

Better? Worse? tp7 boasts that it's THE BEST.

some of frames in video comparison are not the same, but I can see that doki used some sharpening filter which resulted in artefacts near the lines (especially screen 1 @ part 3).
also this must be a rare case, but thora's sub styling is better.

I noticed a while back, I will update those screens soon.  As for the styling... Yes, it's easier on the eye.

Other than the sharpening causing it, it could be that it's just starved from too few bitrate, which really seems to be the case there.

And what's with the difference of the aura around that person here? http://screenshotcomparison.com/comparison/22424/picture:1

It doesn't look like an encoding thing. Perhaps it's because they're different frames?

I don't know, the one that created the screenshot will have to clear things up. :>

Let's get started with the 720p...

Encode Screens Part 1

Encode Screens Part 2

Encode Screens Part 3

Subs Screens Part 1

Subs Screens Part 2

Subs Screens Part 3

Signs Screens Part 1

Signs Screens Part 2

Signs Screens Part 3

ED Screens

The second Encode Picture tells the real difference between the two and Thora's is better. The blue special affect is brighter and filled in while Doki's is dull and not very bright for that kind of special affect.

Subs - For some reason my 'Engrish Alarm' was going off when looking at Doki's. Their translation too wordy for Subs. Going to have to say Thora.

Ending - Going to have to say Doki. While Thora has a nice font for the English, it can be too hard to read for some people. Doki also put in the Kanji(or whichever it is).

Overall while Doki did a good job especially with the ED, their version doesn't come close to Thora.

How does Inochi, Tormaid, tp7, Nishishi, Bill-Pengy, and CGi compare?

Can you confirm Thora's version now Jaru? It's obvious that Thora's version is superior due in light to the rendered pixels per second. I'd like to start seeding this.

Superior to what? I don't see a comparison to Inochi, Tormaid, tp7, Nishishi, Bill-Pengy or CGi.

i feel like the doki version has much crisper images

as for the subs i agree with you thora's are superior

i also agree on the ending
