I was wondering how does my language sound for someone who does not understand it... some Greek person who knew Russian told me that it kind of sounds like Russian, but I really do not want to believe it...

Meh, most nordic languages sound like the guy you're talking to is preparing to spit in your face.

Russian? Unlikely... "in soviet Greece it all sounds like Russian to me"... yeah, you get the point. There are many languages that have similarity, unfourtunatly all but two are extinct. Now it's only Lithuanian and Latvian left. The Roman holy empire, Teutonic knights and later Russian Empire did their best to reduce Baltic languages to only two remaining.

Hopefully the baltic languages will thrive even though there are not that many that speak it as there used to be.
