I dunno what kinda of simulator that you want but I am a recreational pilot and the club I belong to encourages us to use alot of sims. Are you looking for a fun game or something realistic?

Jet Simulation of something ( i really don't know how to call it )

to make a uber short description on what I'm talking about: ace combat is a dogfighting game, where you shoot other jets

i assume he's looking for an arcade shooter considering his example.

the H.A.W.X series would probably be exactly what you are looking for, really fun.

That's what i thought as well, they don't make real simulators for consoles after all... If you land a plane without knowing what ILS means and why you should know about it, then you are not playing a flight simulator.
For one thing, Tiff is not on any level what I would call a typical American.  She's not what I would consider a typical person.  I don't know any other genius geneticist anime-fan martial artist marksman model-level beauties, do you?

Yeah i'll add a 3rd recommendation for H.A.W.X its defo not to my tastes as far as sims go but it sounds like what the OP is looking for.
This may also float your boat 'Top Gun' http://uk.gamespot.com/pc/action/topgunpc/index.html?om_act=convert&om_clk=gssimilargames&tag=similargames%3Btitle%3B2
If you fancy a helicopter based arcade 'sim' check out Apache Air Assault ..... seem to remember some of the boys on SimHQ mentioning that this was a pretty fun heli arcade game with good eyecandy. http://uk.gamespot.com/ps3/sim/apacheairassault/index.html?tag=result%3Btitle%3B1
Above is ps3 review but it's available for PC to.

Cool, I researched and look for the trailers in this game

Top Gun: Graphics sucks? I really don't appreciate its graphics compared to ace combat in xbox360
Hawx: Pretty nice graphics, but I heard on some reviews thats its not realistic?
Hawx 2: idk, maybe have better improvements w/ Hawx, but nonetheless, will be trying it
Apache: Air Assault: I think I'll get this one first, Maybe I'll try to try some heli sim playing in PC rather than jets atm..

I'm actually disappointed, I guess I'll have to visit my friend always to play an awesome flight sim, I don't think there's a Flight sim in PC that matches Ace Combat  ::)

What are you basing your judgement of realism on ??
I Don't play sims on consoles so cannot comment on Ace Combat for certain, I do however have at least 20 years experience with proper hardcore sims, and i would be very very surprised if HAWX was much less realistic than any other console based flight sim ....... all console based sims are on the 'arcade' side of things since it is pretty much impossible to present a 'proper' flight sim with a joypad as a controller.
If you want realistic thats one thing.
if you want eyecandy thats another.
Try to be specific and you'll probably get the help you need.

Ace Combat has nothing to do with simulator.
It's an arcade shooter. You won't find many(half modern) shooter flyers for PC. Hawx 2 is the latest(half-decent) I think.

If you want to look into simulators try Lock:On with Mods and Patches or Falcon:Allied Force.
IL-2: Sturmovick with all the addons is still the number one there is but it's not for jets.

If you're looking for fancy graphics you can forget it. The games are old and even new ones have pretty sucky graphics compared to others simply because there's no way even a modern computer can run a decent sim with fancy graphics, there's just too much physics and a way too big area involved.

You might want to look into space shooters though. There's a huge load of those out but I've got no idea if there's any good. Haven't really ventured into them after Freelander.

Because we can!

It's not realistic by a longshot...
The question is though if you consider Ace Combat realistic in any way... because it is not.
If you have fun in Ace Combat you'll more than likely have fun in the HAWX franchise.

HAWX2 (and likely HAWX 1 too) look at least as good as everything you can get onto a console (they are available for console too).

Psssh, Ubisoft is handling H.A.W.X 2
I Bet its installed with the shitty DRM, and you can't play it without having a stable internet connection -.-

anyways, is this game good too?

IL2:sturmovik is by far the best flight sim ever!

They are coming out, maybe already came out? with a new one which is more arcade style shooter..Something tells me it maybe for a platform which doesn't help you much.  But its exactly what you are looking for.  Maybe it will be released on all systems!

Anywho,  Try IL2:Sturmovik with your friends, it takes awhile to figure out but the multi player in that game is some of the best/intense dogfights ever

Flightgear

Flightgear screenshots

Xplane

Both have excellent military aircraft.  In particular Flightgear.  Flightgear has excellent online multiplayer.  In Flightgear you can drop nukes, but I believe it's only available as source right now from git.  Well the nuke thing might be a plugin, not sure.  Check out Flightgear, it's free.

There are two series of flight sims that have been very popular, the main one is MS Flight Sim by Microsoft, it started with FS 98, and was improved and re released with improved models, engines and world over the years, the two latest and most uses are FS2004 or also called FS9 and FSX the last in the series because Microsoft closed ACES studio that made them all a little while ago..tho some of the former ACES staff have reformed a working studio. The MS flight sim world is very detailed, and has most of the working airports of the world..it is a flight sim, not a fight sim so there is no combat but you can indeed fly just about anything that has ever flown from planes of all types from all periods, with very detailed flight characteristics, cockpits, interiors and liveries..and you can add working AI planes from all of the major airlines and military types too. You also can add on sceneries that may not be part of the base content, and more is made all the time.

The Combat flight sim series by Microsoft was called Combat Flight sim and was also re released over the  years with improved engines the last being CFS3, it is lame compared to the most modern flight sims including IL mentioned above which is the best out now. So you have a lot to choose from.
