Question about avatar uploading [SOLVED]
« on: February 11, 2011, 05:10:02 AM »
This will probably sound ignorant, but I didn't see anything in the avatar guidelines nor when I searched the forum for 'avatar help'.

Do I understand the avatar entry dialog correctly that I must load my avatar file to a image hosting site for entry into said dialog? i.e. I can't upload an avatar from my local hard drive using a URL like 'file://'?

KMPlayer, SMPlayer and VLC. I can play that anime. KDE on Gentoo - bleed the edge.

Correct.

Must be hosted on an image site.  Try www.tinypic.com or imageshack.com

Both good.

Also, there's a max 150x200, 100kb rule.

Thank you.

I had understood about both the image dimensions and the file size limitations. I just wasn't sure about permissible places to 'host' the image. I generally source them locally.

Working on some images now so perhaps tomorrow or the day after I'll have something. Most of the avatars I've developed and currently use are not anime themed.

Thanks for the link to tinypic.

Got something to work so now I understand the process.

Had to switch browsers to do it. tinypic.com caused Konqueror to blow up. Current avatar is just a test image. Will put something of my own up later.

EDIT newy: Don't doublepost. Use the Modify button.
