clannad visual novel asterisks?

ok im having a great time playing this vn but theres one little thing im curious about. has anyone, while playing, ever seen asterisks at the end of random dialogue? (spell checker says dialogue spelled wrong?) i have no idea why and neither does google.

Maybe your font is not functioning properly.

The project wasn't actually finished at any point, so it might have editing oddities all over it.

yea its probably a combo a those two. though ive yet to see one typo. that or i really didnt notice any. baka tsuki really did a good job on it and i really look forward to tomoyo after. yeat the asterisks were probably post op notes they forgot to clean up. thanks for your help guys.
