Seeding/Tracker Problem

I downloaded a few torrents from gg's website directly, and I'm trying to add the bakabt tracker to it in order to help seed more. But when I add the tracker I get this warning:

"Failure : unregistered torrent. the torrent may have been swapped or removed, check the site"

What do I do?

Prolly becuz you are trying to seed torrents that arent on this site.
What do you mean by "adding the tracker?" How are you going about this? What files are you trying to seed? More info would be appreciated.

@wonderholic Keep in mind that despite having same content torrents here are still different from the official/release torrents (ie different sha hash)

Incase you're referring to single torrents in your post, keep also in mind BakaBT only deals with completed series, and any multi-episode uploads here will be complete batches (not counting season/arc breaks for some, and a few exceptions...)...

Find the torrent here which has the same files you downloaded elsewhere, and point it to the folder where you have those files, and do a recheck in your client. If successful (provided they were the same files...) you can start seeding and it will count towards your ratio here.

@soryon: no they are on this site I checked. I downloaded Soredemo Machi wa Mawatteiru and Trapeze directly from gg's site, and I've found the same one's both on bakabt.

I meant that the tracker URL for the torrents on bakabt. I'm using utorrent and there's an option to "add tracker". I downloaded the same torrents on bakabt and copied the tracker into the torrent that I downloaded from gg.

I tried pointing the Trapeze torrent to the same files from gg, but it winds up as a different torrent with a different % downloaded.

Look carefully at the filenames. There may be one or two with "v2" in it.

Run a CRC check. If uTorrent starts redownloading some files, that's an indication that some files are different. The cause may be a corrupt file or a v2/v3/etc. file.

It's better to replace your running torrent with a torrent you download from BBT instead of just copying the tracker, to ensure that the torrent is hashing the files correctly. Keep in mind that only stuff available on BBT can be seeded on BBT.

No, you cannot just add a tracker in this case...

The batch torrent created by gg and the one created for BakaBT are different. Yes the content is the same but they're still different. The swarm for the gg batch torrent cannot join the swarm for the BakaBT batch torrent.

The torrents are both created from the same files, so how can one know they're different, or same?;

Well, every torrent gets a unique sha hash when created, the 40-character alphanumeric string you can see in the torrent info in your client.
Every torrent has a specific hash. If it is same for both, the torrents can use each other's trackers and join each others swarms. If it is not, then they cannot. gg's and BakaBT's for your torrents are different so they cannot.

What hash you get for a torrent depends on several parameters, like piece size, whether it's private or not, etc... If all those parameters are the same for two torrents when created from same content, then they probably share the same hash. Otherwise they will not.
