Description: * An original project produced as the P.A. Works studio's tenth anniversary work.

The story revolves around 16 year-old Matsumae Ohana, a normal girl who hopes and dreams of the future like most girls her age. One day reality catches up to her when she is left in the care of her estranged grandmother, following her mother's elopement with her boyfriend. After travelling to the countryside Ohana is forced to adapt to the new environment and begins working at a her grandmother's Taisho period styled hot spring inn, Kissuisou. Initially at odds with her grandmother, co-workers and customers she decides to use her circumstances as an opportunity to change herself for the better and to make amends with her deteriorating relationship with the Kissuisou staff for a more prominent future.

As follows, Angel Beats was hands down one of the best series (best series IMO) for 2010. It was not only done by Visual Keys, but the animation was solely produced by P.A.Works. Hana-Saku Iroha follows along with some extremely beautiful graphics and heart touching characters. What amazes me is the people who are working on it also worked on some of my favorite titles (Director, Series Composition, Chief Animation Direction, Character Design). I'm so looking forward to this!

Edit -- I've enhanced the information on this series. Check my post on my blog for more information on the producers behind Hana-Saku Iroha. Just download the MegaUpload zip file and watch the 5 previews I've collected. Or hit the YouTube channels from above. This is my #1 on the list to watch along side with Maria Holic: Alive.

Watched the first episode last night, gotta say I was left really looking forward to the next episode.
One thing that irritates me is the guy confesses in in the first episode then she moves away right after. However, in one scene her phone rings and she jumps up hoping it to be him and then he also pops up in the ending credits, so I don't think that is the end of that situation. I for one will be hoping that develops in the coming episodes.

Hard to say if I will follow this each week yet, I think that will depend on what happens with the situation I mentioned above, if its just about the trials and tribulations of working at the onsen and getting along with its residents, then I will prolly drop it soon. For now, I put it on my list.

I was interested with this show, it was certainly different, I wonder how this will develop, I remember a certain show or game, can't remember but I remember a situation similar to this, it has a huge chance for a very nice watch :)

So far we came to understand this girl is gonna try to make everyone at least like her, but she needs to learn a few things some of those girls feel, this show has a lot of potential, adding to list to follow.

It's by Progressive Animation Works. They have some very unique advanced technology for animation. They worked on Angel Beats. As much as I pay attention to the characters, I do pay attention to the BGs and CG's it's been worked on. P.A.Works is the best by far.

This show is sooo classy. My favorite first episode of the season so far. The only one that will probably come close to topping it is C.

It's an original story. No manga. No novel. No etc (at least according to AniDB). And it started well. You don't have that generally when it's original.

I knew nothing of the outside world. I was just a frog in a well.

Correct. Hanasaku Iroha is an original story from P.A.Works and the animation is also done by them. I've updated the first post and added more information. The short English title for this is Hanairo.

It's worth noting that this is P.A. Works' big 10th anniversary production, and they are taking this very seriously and putting their all into it. e: missed that bit in the OP  :D

It's also directed by Masahiro Ando - a man who's been involved with many amazing things.

I don't need to know who does what when I see a good story developing in front of me, now knowing who does what makes sense why it is that way :)

This show will be one that will make me excited in my wait for another episode :)

I'd also would like to know. I wish UTW would do this.

It does to me. SHAFT, P.A.Works, J.C.Staff, 8bit and few others are very well known Animation Work producers. The second thing I look into is the story writers and the directors. It's a critical part to me so I know who actually worked on the series.

Hanasaku Iroha has a lot of senior staff members that worked on some very great series (and also favorites to me). I already know Hanairo will be one hell of a series and I've been following it since like 4 or 5 months ago.

I haven't watched those yet. But they're sitting in my externals. The only exception is Serial Experiments Lain. I've seen like up to episode 8 or 9 and dropped it because it was hell of boring. I'm waiting on Shiki to finish in BDs, too.

But as to Hanairo, it should be clear how amazing the graphics are. I don't know. I may actually start watching this as it airs. I know the only series and for sure I'll be following as it airs is Fate/Zero.
