Great episode, really nice way to add some fan service without overdoing it with pointless (censored) nudity or panyshots.

I'm surprised the show gets better every episode

talk about fanservice. im just going to reiterate that this picture is cash.
(click to show/hide)

who else finds this to be appropiate, unique, and quite mature as far as fanservice goes?

they definitely transcended the panty shot and cleavage trend, thats for sure. i hope more tasteful fanservice such as this is used more often in the future.

I didn't think that was fanservice...??? I mean it was required by the story and wasn't really sexualized (imo at least).

Really? type in bondage into BakaBT search and see what you get... There are over 100 pieces of "entertainment" that has a bondage tag to it. It is definitely a fan service, just not one that's used too often in regular animes (non-hentai).

HanaIro does fanservice the classy way. I can't say I have anything against this type of fanservice.

That's not what I meant. I'm just saying, the intent wasn't sexual (author dude just wanted to practice) and there wasn't any suggestiveness about the scene.

definitely a fanservice anyway you look at it. think about it though, exactly how much fs in anime these days dont have any sexual intent? (pantyshots, bath scenes, beach eps., etc.) it doesnt necessarily have to have a sexual intent between characters to be labeled as FANservice. its for the fans, regardless of the thoughts and intentions between the characters.

HanaIro does fanservice the classy way.

classy, thats the word i was looking for. in any case, you are indeed correct sir.

He didn't want to practice, he wanted to tie her up and have her silent, but he was messing up, and she felt bad for him, she knew there was no danger to her herself, she wanted to get to the bottom of his reason to keep lying.

This may not have sexual intent as service, but it did have it, for people that want to watch this because it has good artwork, great story to tell, and nice character development (for once), they don't need to see this as fan service scene, but for people that look for service scenes in any anime, for those that don't watch anime for the story but for finding and pointing out the fan service as a flaw, this certainly is their proof, for people that see only this in the entire episode, I feel bad for them, spending 23 minutes just for this small bit.

No one mentioned how great Nano was when she jumped in the raging waters to save the idiot writer.
How strange it was that they waited for the poor guy that had to ran after them.
How the landlady agreed with Ohana, surprising probably everyone there.
And how Ohana showed a few of her cards with her understanding her situation and why her own grandmother is treating her for the good of everyone.
And how Minko endured her punishment with dignity, I guess Nano didn't have to, but who knows :)

There's absolutely no way Ohana didn't serve Nano taro right after that. They just didn't show it to us.

hey man you got some good points. but the (sad) truth is, that type of stuff definitely helps bring in the viewers. and i didnt say that was the central point of the ep, just that it was a very creative scene. also i hope youre not categorizing me as someone like you mentioned.

but yo filipinos know what's up. taros are delicious. mainly as a dessert food though as in taro cake and bubble tea. and balut as well. i never understood the whole disgust with it. its just like chicken broth.

no no, my point was that first of all, this show doesn't need fanservice in the first place to gather people around it, it's been a few episodes and this is probably the first service, and out of everything I been pointing out, I seen several posts and a few pictures about naughty stuff about this show, shows who and what people want from this. Small tease and all shout "SLUT !"
I facepalm at those people.

People are overreacting, there is nothing wrong with fan service.

Excessive fan service on the other hand sucks, ecchi shows with pointless stories so they can show more nudity is kinda dumb. =P
Dont know what to put here

It doesn't really belong much, except for maybe a hot springs episode.
