jevitsj:
Well, I just saw it, and I really liked it.
It is an outstanding movie that really captures the feeling of the series, it's indeed a must-watch if you liked the series.

ConsiderPhlebas:
Agreeing with the above. Not sure it really captivated the feel of the series, but for such a short thing it delivered a lot of good things.

(click to show/hide)In particular I liked the more nuanced pic of the relation of Ohana's mother and grandma.

dbml:
It was a very good movie. I love all the backstory on Ohana's mother and grandmother and what happened with them. My only complaint was its length. I wanted more!

^ This. Just got done finishing it. Great in everything. Nice ending song. Now if they would just keep going ...

P.A.Works did a fabulous job on this.

They do a fabulous job with everything... I also just watched it today. Even though there was no real ending or conclusion that wrapped up the show, it was still amazing. These guys know how to do character development along with amazing visuals that rival anime movies.
