You know something tells me that the part timer is either part of a future-based resistance group or was tampered with by SERN, but eventually "overthrew" whatever they did to her. The way she reacted to the brainwashing thing couldn't be a coincidence, plus that little disk-thing (dare I say chip?) of hers.
