SO does work?  Where to get?

It doesn't work for me. It seems to be missing half or something. It is only a little over 2GB, and it does not have as many files as a VN should. Antheon has a working copy. Once he comes back on, I'll ask him to make a torrent or something.

does a VN need a lot of files ? FSN doesn't have much files lol though I saw some that had like 100+ files, the less files the better.

IDK, It still looks like it should have more.

Clannad VN:

I'm not even going to bother getting ss of the insides of those folders.

S;G VN seems to be missing a bunch of things, like sound, save folders, stuff like that.

FSN has 40 files only, excluding save games folder, cuz that one is created by the game upon running it.
Original game has less files, but this one is patched :)
I once had a game that ran in windows that only had 10 files, 4 of them were readme files in other languages than the manual file so that leaves 5 files of actual game :)

*CUT*

Okay, all the files really are there, just stored in a different way (Clannad IS 7 years older after all). The problem is getting it to work for me...

The VN works perfectly fine on my end. If I had to guess I'd say you did not change your sys locale to Japanese before the installation. You should always change your locale before the install, when it is a VN.

Also, sorry for the late reply but I've been busy this weekend tagging all those albums for the S;G Lossless Music Collection.

I never change my sys locale, I use AppLocale, cuz that is what it's for :)

Right, you could use the workaround for AppLocale too but my second PC runs in Japanese so I don't need it.

Hmmm, I may just be able to make this easier... perhaps I can use AGTH to get the text from it, then translate that text using google (or some other more reliable program)

Good luck with that idea! Google translate is not that bad but the word order is totally fucked. Problem is that the VN is licensed, so you won't find many people willing to help you ...
Well, I'll provide you the intro with Okarin's monologue which they cut out of the anime.

^thanks! I couldn't do that with AGTH because that was directly on the animation. Do you happen to know Japanese?

You're welcome. Yeah, AGTH can only translate the text messtages but not the graphics. My Japanese is quite basic/lower avg, but some friends of mine speak it fluently.

Hmmm, I am getting ATLAS V14, hopefully it should be better (It translates voice as well, for when there is no text) and it supposedly translates really well.

I do not plan on getting ahead of the anime on the VN, I will play it up to the spot the anime has left on, then stop and wait till the next episode.

------------

EDIT: for anyone interested in enjoying the S;G VN, I started a project for a translation.

AFAIK JAST*USA is acquiring Nitro+' exclusive licenses. They already did Demonbane and I was under the impression they already licensed Steins;Gate but after asking them over Twitter it seems the VN is still unlicensed in the U.S..

EDIT: It seems I've rushed the first run through the VN as it took me 35 hours this time, though I took my time on some scenes. Or I'm just getting old, lol.
