Yes send someone's mind back into time with a size limit of 36 bytes (No mention if this is Megabytes, kilobytes, ect. But I assume kilobytes since these are phone messages afterall.) Well Okabe is the perfect subject for this. His entire personality, life history and sum of all his knowledge and memories will fit perfectly into a 36 kilobyte packet. HAHAHAH, my fucking CV is almost bigger then 36 Kilobytes, lol. But seriously imo this guys mind will fit the 36KB =P

For those who are curious I think I remember reading that the sum of all a persons knowledge + memories would be around the petabyte region in terms of data

I don't think it's SERN who sending the messages. if it was that is.....even more pathetic then the epic moron himself. If I was incharge of SERN i'd just have his place broken into, steal all the time travel related shit. After that might have to get rid of him and his whole crew. Making them disappear would be easy; send them way back in time, killing them and making them gel in the process. It would go largely unnoticed, I mean lets face it, SERN in the storyline have managed to keep there time travel experiments secret from all the governments of the world, how could they not cover up some kidnappings and murder? lol.

My bet is the person sending the messages is by themselves. The very act of sending the messages is kinda demonstrating the only power this person has is scare tactics/intimidation. Most likely suspect; Shining Finger, messages are her only real means of communicating with others afterall. If SERN actually had their eyes on him they could do way more scary shit then this adolescent scare tactics. These guys are as powerful as a government from what I can see.

I'm really getting pissed off by the morons 'accept everything' attitude. He doesn't question Shining Fingers background or her motivations. He chose to kinda accept the part timers statement that red head works for SERN. He should have fucking demanded she backup her accusation with explanations and evidence. Secondly he should then demand a full explanation of the origin of her problem with red head girl. I used to think she was a time traveler, now I'm think she ain't and she's just full of shit. And lastly how could he possibly forget everything that happened at the start?!?! Red head calling him out, then later murdered. Then further on she is alive again. The satellite and the timeshift sensation he got then.

Too many things left unknown, though IMO this ain't the kinda anime that's big into giving a world breaking plot twist and final truths revealing everything that came before.

Another thing... This guy really needs to watch the end of Higurashi. Choosing to keep quiet about everything he knows is just foolish. That was Higurashi's final message that opening up to others avoided the tragedies from happening. It's a shame he's got so many layers of plot armor that he'll come out of this unscathed, I'd enjoy watching him get fucked over for his mistakes =P

The shows alright, it's the protagonist I can't stomach. I agree on that point about what info needing to be extracted, but even so it would have to be one hell of a simplistic memory, no images to accompany it, just the basic info of events, nothing more. Though it seemed to me they wanted to send an entire persons mind back in time, copying everything entirely.

Which is fine under normal circumstances, however this is anything buy normal. Secondly in regards to part timer it's reached the point where her open hostility demands answers or tell her to stfu. Her accusation pushed this to new heights too, you don't accuse someone then not backup your claim or offer evidence. And for Shining Finger when she goes about asking about the IMB and using the time machine, it should have been the Morons personal responsibility to uncover her reasons and motivations. I suppose so. It's a bit hard to lose to someone who is supposed to be super accomplished (Writing light novels, model, track team, ect) and yet feels like the only thing she ever does is be a bitch and be physically abusive to her brother.

From what I can tell Kyouma is 16-18 yrs old, has no job, is not involved in education and somehow has a way to pay for his lab space. Personally my theory is he just takes the money off his childhood friend and hacker guy (Explotation incarnate). Also he's never onced demonstrated any sciencetific knowledge nor any real skills. Hacker guy we know was able to modify the IMB with an interface for use with modern computer systems, with that level of technical ability I'd say he was the one who's made all the projects they have in their lab.

What does that leave u with? One scientist with a major in neurosicence (And an expert in physics too......ain't neuroscience a biology based science?) a top class hacker with some serious technical know how.........and lastly an explotive, delusional person who likes to be in command, thinks he knows better then everyone else and has no special skills or knowledge what so ever =P

If the anime sticks to the VN, Okabe is 18 years of age and a first year at Tokyo Denki University. Albeit not having skills to match Kurisu or Daru, he is the only possessor of the Reading Steiner, the only ability that makes you understand the principles of time. Also, it's the IBN 5100 not the IMB. Looking at the events of episode 11 it should be safe to assume that the real deal is starting with the next episode or the one after. Like the VN, where the first half of the game is used for introduction of characters (and getting us all deredere over Kurisu) while the second half finally starts to pick up with the plot and action.
