Huh i always thought the characters eyes in the anime were normal, it's only in the anime scans they go BRS mode.

You have it a bit wrong here, most likely she sent a message to test if the device works actually, she is quite capable with text messages, it's possible that in the opening she sent more than one message.

Actually I think he's right, a message to herself informing her past self about the time machine they have would also prove it worked at the same time.

Which is why after the message, the relationship changed with her.

He stays close to Mayuri, he should tell her to stay at the shrine for a while and not to show up until he calls her. As long as he stays close to her she will keep dying

The time Leaps have nothing to do with this as he is directly interacting with the change, the D-Mail is being sent and the history is re-written, that is how he notices a change in the timeline, however by directly BEING the D-Mail he doesn't notice any changes, because he is the message.
