She knows time, location etc. She probably also knows that Okabe tried (though in vain) to save Mayuri with his temporal options. So she knew even her help in that one moment would change nothing. They need the mysterious divergence of 1 %.

I'm not sure if a spoiler should be used for that.

But I believe that Kurisu (click to show/hide) probably betrays Okabe after being captured by SERN.  In that way, she would "work for them".

Lavo_2:
(click to show/hide)While I expected Suzuha to have knowledge of the future/time travel, even called it earlier, I didn't really expect her to be John Titor. I mean, why would Titor have asked Okabe to meet uh... "Him", if "he" already has met Okabe.

Okay, so why (click to show/hide)did every atempt to save Mayuri have Okabe there? Wouldn't he have tried at least one time to save Mayuri, by not being there? Have her stay at the shrine, or go home after fixing the cosplay, or didn't he go back early enough, so that he could have straightened things out then? Or did we have to go through every possible iteration for dramatic stupidity er I mean artistic license?

(click to show/hide)I'm pretty sure in one of the quick flashes he just finds her dead.  And another, she's with Kurisu and dies when they're attack.  It was "destined" to happen.

(click to show/hide)Not doing anything leads to her death (first timeline), him messing with time leads to her death (every other timeline), so he's in a lose-lose situation whatever he does. This is because every timeline that splits from the main branch meets the main branch again later, resulting in the same outcome every time (Suzuha's rope analogy). The methods to achieve that outcome may vary (the different ways Mayuri dies), but the end is always the same (she will die).

The only way out is to get on a alternate timeline altogether, one not related to the current one and with what they have now, that's impossible. This is where Suzuha/John Titor comes into play.
I like how this is based on actual scientific theories (mostly Einstein's theories of Relativity).
